When tanvi called us to finalise this engagement cake for Shamita & Justine, we were suggesting her few other designs. But she fixed her eyes on this very design. We are so glad she did not budge coz we would have missed creating this beautiful piece 😍

As such we invariably try to do our best at Simply Relish .... But when it's for people whom we truly appreciate and love - going a mile further just happens effortlessly....
When this cake order was placed by Manjusha Karandikar for her hubby's 60th birthday - she entrusted us for design, look , flavour and finesse. Anyone will expect a 1.5 kg round cake with edible toppers kept on it. This is where me & rucha decided to take it a notch higher... She had given us enough time to work on it (best part 👍🏼). So I told rucha - kalakar Manus aahe plus a damn good human being... So think differently... Regular design will not do justice to his personality. We drew many designs, discussed a lot, cancelled out many after drawing and visualising and finally settled on this design which we both felt happy looking at. We had to do lot more mehenat...had to bake 2 different cakes. Arrange them differently. With exact measurements & precision, we had to create and attach that lippan art edible piece on that semicircular cake. Nothing was easy here - right from making isomalt crystals to give impression of a mirror to take care of proportion and symmetry of the overall cake design. But thanks to almighty that we could do it in time and so beautifully. The flute, the mouth organ, laptop, paint brush , lippan art piece are all 100% edible.

Some cakes take up special place in your heart - not because they are too difficult, or too intricate, but simply because of some other heartwarming reasons.
Client placed order for this 2.5kg twin dinosaurs cake for her twin sons. She was more interested in those 2 top pinata eggs which should ooz out chocolate after cracking it.... Less fondant is one more requirement of kid's cake... So made this chocolate hazelnut cake, finished it with buttercream and Rucha hand-painted those 2 cutesie dinos facing each other on side of the cake. Client had asked for bare minimum decoration - just 2 dinos and those 2 oozy chocolate filled eggs.... But after making those and placing it on cake... Rucha told me that cake is looking empty with just these 2 specified things. So we decided to make few beautiful monstera leaves, their names on cake boards, 3rd birthday so figure of 3 and then we were satisfied looking at that cake....
We knew cake is really looking prertty... We were sure about the amazing flavour profile too.... But what took me by surprise was receiving a call that night from client - almost screaming in happiness and sharing all the tiny tiny details how the eggs were perfectly cracked open n then chocolate oozed out and small children present there started licking it then n there from cake. Indeed it was super fun even to hear it all from here.... She complimented generously and since rucha was sleeping that time - she made it a point to convey her feeling to her via WhatsApp message, screenshot of which is shared here....
Whenever client loves your creation and praises your efforts wholeheartedly and genuinely - that actually makes all our effort & passion worthwhile... याच साठी केला होता सारा अट्टाहास अशी आम्हा homebakers ची अवस्था असते. अजून काही काही नको.... 😍🥰💃💃💃💃
