Your ultimate guide to Netflix’s must-watch binge-worthy gems!

Netflix has dropped another glossy rom-com, but viewers are already saying it feels less like a love story and more like the world's most expensive HR presentation.

Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein team up in 'Office Romance', a workplace comedy that looks like it should be packed with sparks. Instead, it plays things so safe that it barely leaves a mark.

Lopez stars as Jackie Cruz, the hard-nosed CEO of a major airline who finds herself working closely with the company's new lawyer, Daniel Blanchflower, played by the Ted Lasso favourite. The setup practically writes itself, powerful boss, office rules, secret relationship, but somehow the film never really takes off.

The biggest surprise isn't the predictable story. It's the lack of chemistry between the two leads. Goldstein, known for his rough-around-the-edges charm, spends much of the movie hiding behind an awkward upper-class British accent that never quite fits, while Lopez does her best with material that rarely gives her much to work with.

The film hits every rom-com checkpoint you've seen a hundred times before. There's the initial clash, the unexpected attraction, the secret meetings, and the inevitable grand declaration. The problem is you can see every turn coming long before it happens.

Even stranger is the movie's identity crisis. One minute it's a glossy office romance, the next it's throwing in surprisingly crude jokes and bizarre side plots that feel like they belong in a completely different film. Instead of adding edge, they just make the whole thing feel confused.

That's not to say Office Romance is a complete disaster. It's watchable enough if you're after something easy to throw on for a couple of hours. But with two hugely likeable stars leading the charge, you'd expect a lot more than a movie that simply ticks boxes.

In the end, 'Office Romance' isn't terrible. It's just forgettable. And in a genre built on making people fall in love, that's probably the biggest disappointment of all.

'Office Romance' is now streaming on Netflix.

Imagine being just two years old and becoming the only witness to your mother’s murder.

That’s the heartbreaking reality behind Netflix’s The Witness, a true-crime drama that’s left viewers asking one question after the credits roll… what happened to André and Alex Hanscombe?

The three-part series tells the story of Rachel Nickell, who was brutally killed on Wimbledon Common in 1992 while her young son, Alex, stood beside her. The attack shocked Britain, but for André and Alex, the nightmare was only just beginning.

Rather than centring on the police investigation, The Witness follows a father and son trying to survive unimaginable grief while living under an intense media spotlight. Overnight, André became a single parent, forced to protect his child from both public attention and the fear that Rachel’s killer was still out there.

Desperate for a normal life, they left London and moved to France. But even there, they couldn’t escape. British tabloids tracked them down, forcing André to live with a constant fear that their privacy, and their safety, could disappear at any moment.

The series also revisits one of Britain’s most controversial police investigations. Colin Stagg was wrongly targeted in an undercover sting operation, only to be cleared completely years later. The real killer, Robert Napper, wasn’t brought to justice until 2008 after admitting manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

By then, André and Alex had built a new life in Barcelona, Spain, where they finally found the peace they had spent more than a decade searching for.

Today, both men still live in Spain. They returned briefly to London in 2024 to work as consultants on Netflix’s adaptation, helping make sure their story was told truthfully.

Alex has dedicated much of his adult life to mindfulness and mental wellbeing, working as both a yoga teacher and hypnotherapist. He also wrote a memoir about his experiences, hoping that sharing his family’s journey might help others facing their own darkest moments.

André had already shared Rachel’s story years earlier in his own memoir, determined to keep her memory alive.

More than 30 years after Rachel Nickell’s murder, The Witness isn’t just about one of Britain’s most infamous crimes. It’s about resilience, survival, and a father and son who refused to let tragedy define the rest of their lives.

Just when it looked like Denzel Washington was about to lead one of Netflix’s biggest movies ever, everything appears to have slowed to a crawl.

The Oscar-winning actor has been attached to play legendary Carthaginian general Hannibal in a massive historical epic, reuniting with longtime collaborator Antoine Fuqua. On paper, it had all the ingredients of a blockbuster, a Hollywood heavyweight in the lead, an acclaimed director behind the camera, and Netflix backing one of its most ambitious productions.

But now, the project has reportedly been put on hold before filming has even started.

According to multiple reports, pre-production on the untitled Hannibal movie has been paused after spending almost three years in development. The film was first announced in 2023, with Washington set to star, Fuqua directing, and Oscar-nominated writer John Logan working on the script.

Things had already started moving behind the scenes. Italy was expected to host much of the filming later this year, casting was reportedly underway, and Washington and Fuqua had even been scouting locations.

So what happened?

The biggest issue appears to be money. Reports suggest the scale of the production has raised budget concerns, forcing Netflix to temporarily hit pause. The good news for fans is that sources say there’s no fallout between the streamer and the creative team, meaning the project could still move forward if the numbers work.

While that future remains uncertain, one of Washington’s older films is getting a surprise second chance.

His 2004 political thriller The Manchurian Candidate has now arrived on Paramount+, giving viewers another chance to revisit one of the actor’s most underrated performances. Directed by Jonathan Demme, the film stars Washington as Gulf War veteran Ben Marco, who uncovers a disturbing conspiracy involving politics, mind control, and corporate power.

Despite strong reviews and a cast that included Meryl Streep, Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Wright, Anthony Mackie, and Pablo Schreiber, the movie never reached the same level of popularity as Man on Fire or Inside Man.

Whether the Hannibal epic gets back on track or not, one thing hasn’t changed. Denzel Washington is still finding ways to dominate headlines, both with the movies he’s making and the ones people are rediscovering.

What do you think? Should Netflix push ahead with the Hannibal movie, or is the budget too big a risk?

How far would you go to meet your favourite K-pop group?

That’s the question at the heart of 'Night Shift For Cuties', Netflix’s new Indonesian comedy that turns late-night convenience store shifts into an emotional battle between friendship and fandom.

The series follows Muti and Jenar, two women working the night shift at a Korean-owned convenience store. They come from very different lives, but they instantly connect over one thing, their obsession with fictional K-pop sensation Purple Tea.

For Muti, the job is survival. After her father’s sudden death, she’s left supporting her struggling family while their home literally falls apart around them. Jenar, meanwhile, spends her days dealing with cruel comments about her weight and pressure to fit society’s idea of the “perfect” woman.

Their shared love for Purple Tea becomes an escape from all of it.

Things take a turn when they discover a fan contest offering one lucky winner the chance to fly to Seoul and meet the group. What starts as a wholesome friendship quickly turns into a rivalry as both women realise they might not be able to share the dream.

The show leans hard into bright colours, catchy dance routines and feel-good energy, making it feel like a live-action version of KPop Demon Hunters, minus the supernatural chaos.

The biggest strength is the chemistry between stars Shenina Cinnamon and Nadya Syarifa, who make the friendship feel genuine enough that you’ll actually care when cracks begin to appear.

It’s not a deep or complicated drama, and it doesn’t try to be. This is comfort viewing wrapped in neon lights, awkward crushes and K-pop obsession.

There is one small problem though. If you’re planning to watch, be prepared to hear Purple Tea’s track “B-B-Believe It”... a lot. By the end of the first episode, there’s a good chance it’ll either be stuck in your head or drive you completely mad.

Still, if you’re after an easy binge packed with friendship, underdog stories and the kind of fan culture that can change lives, 'Night Shift For Cuties' is probably worth adding to your watchlist.

'Night Shift For Cuties' is available to stream on Netflix.

True crime fans have seen it all by now. Brutal murders, shocking twists and endless documentaries chasing the next viral case. But Netflix’s latest release, 'The Murder of Rachel Nickell', does something most of the genre rarely manages. It shines a harsh light on the people who were supposed to deliver justice.

Rachel Nickell was just 23 when she was attacked in broad daylight on London’s Wimbledon Common in July 1992. She was stabbed 49 times and sexually assaulted while out walking with her two-year-old son, Alex, who became the only witness to the horrific crime.

The documentary opens with heartbreaking home footage of young Alex trying to explain what happened to his mum. His father, Andre Hanscombe, recalls the moment his entire world collapsed after a police officer answered the family phone instead of Rachel.

With almost no forensic evidence and few reliable witnesses, detectives found themselves under enormous public pressure. Instead of finding answers, they repeatedly questioned a traumatised toddler and his grieving father, forcing them to relive the nightmare over and over again.

Then came the investigation’s most controversial chapter.

As criminal profiling exploded in popularity during the early 1990s, police became convinced local man Colin Stagg fit the image of the killer. Officers even launched an undercover honeytrap operation designed to lure him into confessing. They believed they had their man.

They were wrong.

The case against Stagg eventually collapsed, exposing serious questions about police conduct. Meanwhile, the real killer remained free, with devastating consequences that would only become clear later.

Director Lucy Bowden avoids turning Rachel’s death into spectacle. The documentary doesn’t linger on graphic details or cheap shocks. Instead, it focuses on the emotional damage left behind, not only for Rachel’s family, but also for the innocent people caught up in a desperate investigation.

What starts as a murder story slowly becomes something much bigger, a damning portrait of an investigation driven by pressure, public expectation and the need to find someone to blame.

Unlike many modern true crime series, 'The Murder of Rachel Nickell' isn’t really about the killer. It’s about the cost of getting justice wrong.

And that might make it one of Netflix’s most unsettling documentaries yet.

People thought they were checking into paradise. Instead, they walked straight into a mystery where nobody is allowed to leave.

Netflix has just dropped the first trailer for 'Oasis', and what starts as a picture-perfect luxury getaway quickly turns into something far darker. Within seconds, the glamorous beaches, bonfires, and exclusive parties are replaced by police raids, panic, and one terrifying question... what happened to the missing guest?

The 96-second teaser opens like the ultimate influencer vacation. Beautiful coastlines, stylish crowds, and endless summer vibes make the resort look like a dream destination.

Then viewers notice something strange.

Police officers suddenly flood the property. Guests exchange nervous looks. Secret late-night meetings and hidden confrontations hint that everyone could be hiding something. As the investigation unfolds, the entire resort is locked down, leaving every smiling face as a possible suspect.

The internet is already comparing the series to Netflix hits like Elite and Welcome to Eden, blending young romance with a suspense-filled whodunit that gets darker with every clue.

Created by Ramón Campos and the team behind Cable Girls and The Asunta Case, Oasis stars Ana Garcés, Tomy Aguilera, and Victoria Kantch. The series was filmed across the stunning landscapes of Tenerife, making the contrast between paradise and chaos even more striking.

'Oasis' arrives on Netflix globally on June 19, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it could be one of the streamer's biggest international thrillers of the summer.

The new Netflix drama 'The Witness' is leaving viewers shaken, and it’s all because of one heartbreaking fact... the only person who saw Rachel Nickell’s brutal murder was her two-year-old son.

The three-part series tells the true story of Alex Hanscombe and his father, André, whose lives changed forever after Rachel was killed on London’s Wimbledon Common in 1992.

While the case became one of Britain’s most talked-about murder investigations, this series focuses on something very different. Instead of the police hunt, it shows what happened to the family left behind.

Overnight, André became a single father while trying to protect a traumatised child who had witnessed the unimaginable. At the same time, they were forced to deal with intense media attention and a police investigation that would later become hugely controversial.

What makes the drama even more emotional is that Alex and André worked closely with the production as consultants. The story is also based on Alex’s memoir, Letting Go, making it one of Netflix’s most personal true crime projects.

Jordan Bolger stars as André, while Max Fincham and Jahsaiah Williams play Alex at different stages of his life.

And that’s not all. Netflix has also released a companion documentary, The Murder of Rachel Nickell, featuring real interviews with Alex and André as they reflect on the tragedy and the long fight for justice.

Since arriving on the platform, people have been calling The Witness one of the most devastating true stories Netflix has ever told, with many saying it’s a series they won’t forget anytime soon.

Most true crime shows want you to obsess over the killer.

Netflix's 'The Witness' does the exact opposite, and that's what makes it so hard to forget.

The three-part miniseries tells the story of Rachel Nickell's 1992 murder on Wimbledon Common. But instead of focusing on the crime itself, it follows the people forced to live with what happened... her partner André Hanscombe and their young son Alex, who was only two years old when he saw the attack.

The opening moments hit like a punch. Alex recalls going for a walk with his mother and never seeing her come home. From there, the series becomes less about solving a case and more about surviving unimaginable loss.

Viewers quickly noticed something different.

There are no over-the-top crime scene recreations or endless shots of evidence boards. Instead, the story stays with a father trying to raise a child through trauma while the entire country watches.

Jordan Bolger brings a quiet sadness to André, while Jahsaiah Williams and Max Fincham show Alex at different stages of a childhood shaped by grief. Their scenes together are easily the emotional centre of the show.

And then things get even darker.

The series also shines a light on the media frenzy that surrounded the case, showing reporters chasing a grieving family that simply wanted to be left alone. Many viewers have said those moments feel just as disturbing as the crime itself.

The police investigation and its infamous mistakes are there, but they never become the main attraction. The Witness isn't interested in turning tragedy into entertainment.

That's what makes it stand out.

This isn't a true crime series about a murderer. It's about the people who had to wake up the next morning and somehow keep living.

And judging by the reaction online, that's the part audiences can't stop thinking about.

Imagine waiting months for a new season of your favourite show, only to find out one of its biggest characters has vanished.

That’s exactly what’s happened to Sweet Magnolias fans after reports confirmed Carson Rowland, who’s played Ty Townsend since the very first episode, won’t be returning for Season 5.

The timing couldn’t be worse. Netflix is set to release the new season on June 11, but with just days to go, viewers have discovered Ty’s story is coming to an unexpected halt.

According to People, Rowland has officially left the hit romantic drama, although nobody has explained why. It’s still unclear whether the decision came from the actor or the production team.

Fans have already flooded social media with disappointment. Rowland recently returned to Instagram after nearly five months away, and his comments section quickly filled with messages from viewers devastated to learn he wouldn’t be back.

Ty has been one of the show’s core characters since Sweet Magnolias first landed on Netflix in 2020. As Maddie and Bill Townsend’s son, fans have watched him deal with his parents’ split, chase his baseball dreams and, most importantly, navigate his slow-burn romance with Annie Sullivan.

Season 4 finally gave viewers the relationship they’d been waiting for, as Ty and Annie admitted their feelings for each other. But with Annie heading to college and Ty planning a music tour across Europe, cracks were already beginning to show.

Now, Rowland’s departure leaves one huge question hanging over the new season, what happens to Ty and Annie?

The show may already have its answer. Ty’s plans to leave the country with his band could give writers an easy way to explain why he’s suddenly gone, at least for now.

Away from Serenity, Rowland has continued building his career with projects including The Queen’s Jewels and The Beauty. He also worked as co-executive producer on the Golden Globe-nominated film The Testament of Ann Lee.

The rest of the main cast is returning, including JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, Heather Headley and Justin Bruening. Season 5 will also introduce Jamie-Lynn Sigler as newcomer Nell Winters, who forms a friendship with Maddie during her time in New York.

Whether Ty’s exit is temporary or permanent remains a mystery. But one thing’s clear, Sweet Magnolias won’t feel quite the same without him.

Think you've seen everything Netflix can throw at you? Think again.

One dark comedy has left viewers split right down the middle, with some calling it genius and others saying they wanted to switch it off after just one episode.

That show is 'Bad Thoughts', comedian Tom Segura’s brutally weird anthology series that’s just dropped its second season.

If you know Segura’s stand-up, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting into. The comic has built a career on pushing boundaries with crude, unapologetic humour, and his Netflix series takes that formula to another level.

Made up of six episodes per season, Bad Thoughts throws viewers into a collection of bizarre and often disturbing stories built around everyday themes like family, work, success and relationships. But don’t expect heartfelt life lessons. Expect cult leaders, clueless assassins, wildly inappropriate sketches and jokes that seem designed to make you laugh and cringe at the same time.

Some moments even look like they belong in a serious prestige drama before taking a ridiculous turn. One sketch reportedly starts out feeling like an A24 psychological thriller before descending into complete chaos.

The cast also features Robert Iler, Johnny Pemberton, Kirk Fox, Dan Stevens, Malin Barr, Daniella Pineda and Arturo Castro, but it’s Segura who dominates every episode with a string of outrageous characters.

Critics can’t seem to agree on whether it’s brilliant or unbearable.

The first season earned a mixed reception, sitting at 54% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, while audiences scored it a slightly stronger 67%. Supporters have praised the show for being unpredictable and fearless, while others have slammed it as crude, juvenile and reliant on shock value instead of actual jokes.

That divide only seems to be growing after Season 2 landed on Netflix last month.

But maybe that’s the whole point.

'Bad Thoughts' doesn’t seem interested in playing it safe. It wants to make you uncomfortable. It wants you to wonder what you’re watching. And whether you love it or hate it, chances are you’ll keep watching just to see how much stranger it can get.

'Bad Thoughts' is available to stream on Netflix.
