TRANSPORT
- Hire a cab with snow chains (₹3000 pickup & drop is reasonable in heavy snow).
- Keep buffer time roads via Tangmarg can close temporarily after snowfall.

Guides & Skiing
- Take a local guide (₹999/day) if you’re new it saves time, money, and confusion.
- Use a ski instructor (₹2250) or opt for Fun Ski with instructor (₹1500) if you’re a beginner.
- Ski gear: ₹500–1000 per pair depending on quality inspect before paying.

Clothing
- If you already have waterproof shoes & jacket, skip renting from Tangmarg.
- Wear thermal layers, gloves, woollen cap, and sunglasses (snow glare is strong).

Activities
- Gulmarg Gondola
Phase 1: ₹810
Phase 2: ₹1010
Book early; weather closures are common.
- Tube ride: ₹100 (fun & safe for kids).
- Sledge ride: ₹500 first hour, then ₹350/hour agree on duration beforehand.
- Snow scooter (Phase 1): ₹1500–2000 depending on ride time.
- ATV rides
- To Drung: ~₹2000 (bargaining works)
- In Gulmarg: ₹2000 for full 13 km ride

DON’Ts in Gulmarg (Winter)
- Don’t walk on frozen slopes without proper shoes very slippery.
- walking on Ski slopes os prohibited
- Don’t overpay ask rates clearly before starting any ride/activity.
- Don’t skip weather checks Gondola Phase 2 often shuts due to wind/snow.
- Carry little cash throughout the trip.

Tips
- Start early morning for Gondola & activities.
- Always negotiate politely—especially for ATVs and sledges.
- Keep hot water & snacks handy; cafes can be crowded.
- Respect local vendors—they help most during snow emergencies.
