Shopian: NHM employees continued their strike for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday, holding a protest in support of their long-pending demands. The employees pressed for equal pay for equal work, pension benefits, timely payment of salaries, and other demands.
The protesting employees staged a sit-in in Shopian, where members of civil society also joined the demonstration and expressed solidarity with their demands. Civil society representatives said NHM employees play an important role in the healthcare system, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Meanwhile, the ongoing strike by doctors and paramedical staff has caused difficulties for patients, especially those coming from rural and hilly areas. Patients visiting District Hospital Shopian were also seen facing hardships as medical services remained affected.

شوپیان: ضلع شوپیان کے تحصیل کیلر کے پہلی پورہ گاؤں میں خستہ حال سڑک مقامی لوگوں کے لیے مسلسل پریشانی کا باعث بنی ہوئی ہے۔ مقامی لوگوں کا کہنا ہے کہ انتخابات کے دوران مختلف سیاسی جماعتوں کے نمائندے علاقے کا رخ کرتے ہیں، لیکن عوامی مسائل حل کرنے کے وقت کوئی توجہ نہیں دی جاتی۔ لوگوں نے بتایا کہ بارش اور برفباری کے دوران سڑک کی خراب حالت کے باعث آمدورفت میں شدید مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ مقامی لوگوں نے پہلی پورہ سے رخ پہلی پورہ تک تقریباً دو کلومیٹر سڑک پر میکڈم بچھانے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا ہے کہ علاقے میں خوبصورت سیاحتی مقام شکرو بھی موجود ہے اور اسے ٹورسٹ ڈیسٹینیشن بنانے کے وعدے کیے گئے تھے، تاہم بنیادی سہولیات خصوصاً سڑک کی حالت بہتر کیے بغیر سیاحت کو فروغ دینا مشکل ہے۔

National Health Mission employees in Shopian district on Thursday continued their protest for the second day as part of the ongoing 72-hour strike across Jammu and Kashmir.

The employees raised their long-pending demands, including a secure job policy, salary revision, retirement benefits and social security.

The protesting staff said they have been working under the NHM for several years and urged the government to address their concerns and provide a clear policy on their future.

The employees appealed to the concerned authorities to initiate dialogue and take concrete measures to resolve their demands at the earliest.

احتجاجی ملازمین نے کئی عرصے سے زیرِ التوا مطالبات اٹھائے، جن میں ملازمت کے تحفظ کی پالیسی، تنخواہوں میں نظرِ ثانی اور اضافہ، اور ریٹائرمنٹ فوائد شامل ہیں۔
ملازمین کا کہنا تھا کہ وہ کئی برسوں سے اپنی خدمات انجام دے رہے ہیں اور محکمہ صحت کے نظام میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں، تاہم بہتر سروس شرائط اور سماجی تحفظ سے متعلق ان کے مطالبات ابھی تک حل نہیں کیے گئے۔
انہوں نے حکام سے اپیل کی کہ ان کے جائز مطالبات پر غور کرتے ہوئے انہیں جلد از جلد حل کرنے کے لیے ضروری اقدامات کیے جائیں۔
مظاہرین نے حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ ان کے نمائندوں کے ساتھ بات چیت کی جائے اور جلد از جلد ایک سازگار حل نکالا جائے۔
