WHEN I SOLD OFF ALL MY JEWELLERY…20 years ago; with all the savings & selling of jewellery, I managed to buy my house in Mumbai. At the time of selling jewellery, everyone asked me to re-consider, someone said never sell “Stree Dhan”, another said what will you keep for contingency etc. But I was determined. .I knew I will not sit home. Though I didn’t have any plans; but I knew one thing that whatever I choose to do; it will not just be a hobby but something that will define me. I will set an example that a woman can achieve anything she sets her heart & soul too..As I made this journey, it is full of failures, so many low points. Ran into people who either made fun of me or gave sympathies - neither of which I needed. I remember when I used to take cake orders, a neighbour casually asked me I work so hard for ₹ 200-500. It was never about money. It was about chasing dreams, because when you dare to chase your dreams, they do come true. If you do good to others & stay true to your path; the universe definitely works to give you what you ask for. .Been blood and sweat long 20 years and finally on my own, I have managed to buy that one solitaire ring I always wanted to have. A diamond to some may just be a show for special event and to some may be an investment; but to me it’s a reminder that when you work hard, dreams come true.
