The traditional Mizo puan patterns exhibit inherent mathematical precision due to the loom's constraint of straight lines formed by warp and weft. Each geometric shape, including diamonds, flowers, zigzags, and stripes, is meticulously calculated thread by thread, resulting in a captivating aesthetic reminiscent of 8-bit graphics that predates computer graphics. This centuries-old tradition continues to thrive today, with the formal Mizo puan, worn with pride by Mizo women, being revered for its exceptional beauty and masterful craftsmanship.
