Hello, Wondering if there is a group for the 300 HR YTT Sept-Oct 2018
Came back to Samatva Yogalaya again to complete my 300h YTT in July 2018. I don't really like to associate things with luck but I sincerely feel lucky and fortunate to have found these lovely beings at this point in my life.

Initially, I embarked on this journey for the YTT certificate and other superficial reasons. In the end, I came home with more than these tangible things. 2.5 months living and learning in Rishikesh, India has changed me from my core and I'm still learning, growing and evolving daily. Without this yoga teacher training, I would probably be blinded and stuck in my life without the sense of direction, purpose, and fulfillment.

I've learned that yoga is a personal, inward journey that is beyond what we can perceive on social media or in today's yoga studios. It is true that there's a saying of "Yoga is Life". It isn't an obsessive or fanatic saying. I've found out that yoga is way beyond the poses, the on-point yoga attire, posting photos with scenic backdrops for Instagram, going hippie, and simply disregarding the society.

It is about finding your Self, peace, and happiness from within. It is beyond the mat and it is a lot of inner work that can only be done by yourself. Through the universal moral codes and disciplines, I've learned how to become a better human and practice discernment in life. Yoga has opened the door to spirituality for me and showed the difference between being spiritual and religious. Instead of being adverse to religions, I saw the beauty of Hinduism, together with the basis of other religions and the laws of nature through their daily practice and experience.

Physically, yoga has helped me to align my mind, body, and breath. I didn't know how profound and impactful pranayama (breathwork practice) is until I noticed the difference when I came home. Now, I've formed a deeper relationship with my body, diet, and emotions in a way that I've never thought of. Developing food sensitivity and cultivating food awareness are some of the important things I have learned. It's so much easier to turn away from all the unbeneficial modern food and eat consciously for true well-being.

While it may look as if the journey has ended together with the training, deep down I know this is only the beginning. To more divine discovery, connections and moments with the love for Yoga and Cosmos! 💖🙏✨ Thank you, my Samatva Yogalaya family, especially Krishna Sikhwal, Sangeeta Sikhwal and Aneesh Sikhwal.
Happy to say I’ll be joining in October for 500hr. Exciting!

A Sadhana intensive for seekers

We all can benefit from taking a step back from the demands of daily life, to regroup priorities and energies, and to recharge and restore our inherent sense of Wellbeing.

The intention of this in-depth practice is to provide a context in which you can enjoy a deep and uninterrupted exploration of various practices - including Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathwork), Mantra Sadhana (chanting). These ancient practices are approached with a sense of curiosity and openness in order to allow their function as pointers to unwavering Silence and Stillness.

This Eight days practice twice in a week,90 mintutes each session for around 12 hours will be entirely experiential, and will be an opportunity to dive into a mindful body-centered practice free of discussion and 'mental' learning.

This special session is open to all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Basic familiarity with yoga will be assumed. This practice is not recommended those who have a particular injury or condition that requires more specific guidance than a group context can provide.
1. Traditional Hatha Yoga
The practice of asana will include standing poses to empower your legs, inversions to undo the burden of gravity and increase venous flow towards the heart, twists and backbends to re-charge your digestive system and bring youth and flexibility back into your spine. By the end of this workshop you will feel more focused, more energized, revitalized and joyously willing to live the rest of your life. Learn the subtle and deeper aspects of yoga so that your practice may become more nourishing and personally rewarding.
2. Pranayama: Harnessing the power of breath

Pranayama is one of the aspects of Yoga. Its definition includes proper breathing, breathing exercises, control of breathing, and control of Prana (life force or vital energy). The practice of pranayama helps the nervous system to both cleanse and strengthen itself. When the nervous system is in our control, we are able to perceive the causes of our physical and psychological tensions. With asana, we learn to control the body and keep it still; and with pranayama, we learn to control the mind and nervous system. In these sessions we will learn and review the basics of proper breathing and more advanced breathing practices covering benefits of each exercise..

3.Interactive sessions of self-reflection
Core concepts of Yoga philosophy are healing in itself and prepare us for honest review of our present life concepts. This session will invite positive change in your life off the mat. Short and precise in-depth study of yogic philosophical scriptures to bring clarity in perception of reality.

सर्वेऽप्येते यज्ञविदो यज्ञक्षपितकल्मषा: || 30||

BG 4.29-30:
Still others offer as sacrifice the outgoing breath in the incoming breath, while some offer the incoming breath into the outgoing breath. Some arduously practice prāṇāyām and restrain the incoming and outgoing breaths, purely absorbed in the regulation of the life-energy. Yet others curtail their food intake and offer the breath into the life-energy as sacrifice. All these knowers of sacrifice are cleansed of their impurities as a result of such performances.

Namami Gange

We all went to worship Holly river mother Ganga for getting purification of body mind complex .

The River Ganges or Ganga is perhaps the holiest river in any religion. It bears immense significance to the Hindus. Ganga originates from the Gangotri glacier at Gaumukh in the Indian Himalayas at 4,100 meters above sea level, and flows 2,525 km across northern India before meeting the Bay of Bengal in the east India and Bangladesh. As a river, the Ganga contributes to more than 25 per cent of India's total water resources.
About Goddess Ganga
The various myths associated with Ganga and staunch Hindu beliefs associated with the river sanctify it as a goddess. Hindus view goddess Ganga as a fair complexioned beautiful woman wearing a white crown with a water lily and a water pot in her hands, and riding her pet crocodile.
The Hallowed River
Hindus believe that rituals performed by the river Ganga multiply in their blessedness. The water of Ganges, called 'Gangajal' (Ganga = Ganges; jal = water), is held so sacred that holding this water in hand no Hindu dares to lie or be deceitful. The 'Puranas' or ancient Hindu scriptures say that the sight, the name, and the touch of Ganga cleanses one of all sins and taking a dip in the holy Ganga bestows heavenly blessings. The 'Narada Purana,' prophesied pilgrimages in the present Kali Yuga to the Ganges will be of utmost importance.
