Govt High School Bidda

At PMSHRI Govt. High School, Bidda, a lecture on Superstitions and Social Evils was delivered by Sh. Arunesh Gandotra, Teacher, during the morning assembly. To make the topic engaging, he narrated the famous story of five monkeys in a cage:

Whenever a monkey tried to climb the ladder to reach the bananas, all monkeys were splashed with hot water. After a few attempts, the monkeys stopped anyone from climbing the ladder. Later, even when the hot water punishment was removed, the monkeys continued to prevent each other from climbing. As new monkeys replaced the old ones, none had ever experienced the punishment—yet they still followed the rule blindly, without knowing the reason.

This story helped students understand how superstitions are passed down from generation to generation without logic or proof. Sh. Arunesh Gandotra then elaborated on the ill effects of superstitions and urged students to think rationally and adopt scientific temper.

The staff members and students also took a pledge to stay away from superstitions and contribute towards building a progressive society.

The program concluded with inspiring words from Sh. Jatinder Sharma, Headmaster, who encouraged students to fight against social evils.

A lecture on “Adi Karmayogi” was organized in the school to create awareness among students about the objectives and benefits of the scheme. The lecture was delivered by Sh. Arunesh Gandotra (Teacher) and Smt. Ritu (Teacher), who explained the scheme in a simple and student-friendly manner.

Following the lecture, Headmaster Sh. Jatinder Sharma and Sh. Mohd Akram (Master) interacted with the students, motivating them to understand the values of dedication, service, and responsibility, and encouraging them to apply these principles in their daily lives.

Sh. Kashmir Singh (Master) elaborated on the significance of SEWA PARV 2025, highlighting its objectives and the importance of community service. As part of this initiative, teachers donated books, pens, and other essential articles to the students, promoting learning and supporting their educational needs.

The event concluded successfully with active participation from the students and the valuable guidance of the Headmaster and teaching staff.

A First Aid Box Demonstration was conducted in PMSHRI Govt. High School Bidda as part of SEWA PARV 2025.
The session was demonstrated by Mrs. Luxmi Devi (Teacher) and Mrs. Priya Puri (Teacher) under the supervision of Headmaster Sh. Jatinder Sharma.

The teachers explained the importance of a first aid box, displayed its contents, and guided the students on their proper use during emergencies.
A practical drill was also conducted with the help of students, where they practiced basic first aid techniques, ensuring hands-on learning and confidence in dealing with real-life situations.

As part of SEWA PARV activities, a disaster management drill on earthquake preparedness was conducted in PMSHRI Govt. High School Bidda on 19-09-2025. The objective of the drill was to create awareness among students and staff regarding safety measures and first aid during such emergencies.

The drill began with an alarm bell, signaling an earthquake situation. Immediately, students and teachers practiced the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” technique inside their classrooms. Afterwards, all were guided to evacuate the building in an orderly manner through the designated exit routes.

Students assembled at the safe assembly point in the school ground, where attendance was taken to ensure that no one was left behind. The drill was supervised under the guidance of Headmaster Sh. Jatinder Sharma.

A First Aid demonstration was also carried out.
Smt. Ritu (Teacher) and Sh. Arunesh Gandotra (Teacher) demonstrated the use of first aid in case of minor injuries, fractures, and fainting. Students were shown how to provide immediate help to the injured until professional medical aid arrives.

The drill helped in enhancing awareness, discipline, and preparedness among the school community. It was a successful exercise in ensuring safety and readiness for real-life earthquake situations.
