मासिक पाळी हा आपल्या सगळ्यांच्या आयुष्यातील एक महत्त्वाचा घटक आहे, तुमची पाळी येत असेल तरी, आणि नसेल तरी... शेवटी आपल्या सगळ्यांचा उगम तर पाळीमधूनच होतो! तरीदेखील पाळीबद्दल बोलायचं झालं की आपण हा ‘बायकांचा विषय‘ म्हणून बाजूला सारतो. ह्यामुळे पाळी, लैंगिकता आणि त्यासंबंधीत अनेक विषय सगळ्यांपर्यंत पोचत नाहीत. आणि मराठीत या विषयांवर बोलणं अजूनच अनैसर्गिक वाटतं.
अशा विविध कारणांमधून या पॅाडकास्टचा जन्म झाला. या विषयांवर रोजच्या जीवनात मोकळेपणाने बोलता यावं असं आम्हाला वाटतं. त्याचबरोबर पाळी व त्यासंबंधीची माहिती सर्वांसाठी उपलब्ध असावी असं वाटतं. तर आमच्या ह्या प्रयत्नात नक्की सामील व्हा, शेअर करा, कारण... आता तुमची पाळी!

Sayuri Deokar making cloth pad kits for tribal communities on the Kolhapur-Goa border for Amit Prabha Vasant!!

We held a session with young kids from Khushi Rainbow Homes, NSS LSR on the 26th of September 2020. It was a lot of fun, with all of them sitting together and feeling excited by the idea of cups. The had had a comprehensive session on menstruation and puberty the week before, and we started the discussion by asking them to recount what they had previously learnt. When we asked what periods were, many of the kids described how bleeding accompanies hair growth in their p***c region and were extremely open about it. Many of them even knew what cups were and were well aware of the pollution created as a result of burning pads. We ended the session with a cute little dance party. It was a real pleasure to interact with the kids and a huge thank you to volunteers for organising the session.

Based off our fifth Video (go check it out if you haven’t already!) in the Non-Menstrautors’ series, here’s our next Myth Buster!
Sanitary Napkins are a necessity, a basic health & hygiene product. The pads currently populated in the market have dire implications on health and the environment.
A much better option to opt for, and promote using is Cloth Pads.

What Are ? - A Non-Menstruators' Perspective
A few months back we asked non-menstruators a few questions regarding their understanding on & the various aspects of it such as:
What is a period? What menstrual exist? What have been some long lingering questions & comments?
A is a bridge to filling the gaps of knowledge, experience and cementing empathy.
Menstruation is not gross, let’s make mentioning it in public again!
