MLA Wagoora-Kreeri Inaugurates Receiving Station at Wanigam Pattan
: Adv. Irfan Hafiz Lone, accompanied by officers from the R&B and PDD departments, today inaugurated a new receiving station at Wanigam Pattan.
The receiving station is expected to benefit dozens of villages in the area by improving the power supply and strengthening the electricity distribution network. Residents said the project was a long-pending demand of the local population and expressed satisfaction over its completion.
Speaking on the occasion, locals thanked MLA Adv. Irfan Hafiz Lone for fulfilling their longstanding demand and hoped that the new facility would help address power-related issues in the region.
Officials present at the inauguration highlighted the importance of the project in enhancing electricity infrastructure and ensuring better services for consumers across the area.
The Ultrasound (USG) section at Pattan Hospital has remained locked, causing inconvenience to patients who are now compelled to undergo ultrasound examinations at private diagnostic centres.
When Gulistan News raised the issue with the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pattan, she stated that the doctors responsible for conducting USG services are currently unavailable. According to her, one doctor has proceeded on Hajj pilgrimage, while another has been deputed for Amarnath Yatra duty.
The closure of the USG section has sparked concern among local residents and patients, who questioned why both doctors were deputed simultaneously without arranging any alternative medical staff to ensure uninterrupted services.
Patients expressed disappointment over the lack of essential diagnostic facilities at the hospital and urged the health authorities to make immediate alternative arrangements so that the public does not have to bear additional expenses at private clinics.
Locals have appealed to the concerned authorities to restore USG services at the earliest and ensure that such disruptions do not affect patient care in the future.

Prominent Teacher Gh Nabi Sheikh of Parmohalla, Pattan Passes Away: A pall of gloom descended over Parmohalla, Pattan, following the demise of prominent teacher Gh Nabi Sahib, who passed away a few days ago after a life dedicated to education and community service.
Widely respected for his contribution to the field of education and for his noble character, Gh Nabi Sahib earned admiration from students, colleagues, and members of the community alike. His passing is being mourned by people from different walks of life who remember him as a humble, dedicated, and compassionate individual.
He is survived by his sons, prof Sheikh Tahir Ahmad, Associate Professor at the Agriculture College Wadoora, and Dr. Ajaz Ahmad, Medical Officer, Kupwara, along with other family members and relatives.
Residents of Parmohalla and adjoining areas have expressed profound grief over his demise and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. They prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
