1. Create a stitch-like brush
Start with a narrow oval brush shape and adjust spacing so strokes resemble thread stitches.

2. Add texture grain
Use a slightly rough grain source so the stroke doesn’t look flat — embroidery always has subtle irregular texture.

3. Play with brush spacing
Increasing spacing instantly creates a running stitch effect.

4. Use pressure sensitivity
Let the stroke taper slightly to mimic how real threads behave.

5. Build layers like real embroidery
Create separate layers for outline stitches, filling stitches, and knot details.

6. Add subtle shadows
A tiny shadow underneath the stitch gives the illusion that threads are sitting on fabric.

7. Use directional strokes
Real embroidery follows the shape of the motif — flowers, leaves and curves should guide the stitch direction.
