This pic was clicked a few months back when I was just about to fly to another country after having a kidney transplant.
It was indeed a butterfly-in-my-stomach moment where I had mixed emotions - excitement, fear, anxiety, determination! Finally, I hugged myself and decided to believe in myself, prayed to God, remembered how my Mother gave me the strength and the flight took off.. βοΈ

What majority of the people do when they plan to travel -
1. What to see? (Excluding work related travels)
2. Hotel bookings or tour bookings
3. Wander for work or sightseeing (as applicable) and eat wherever and whenever possible
vs
When I plan to travel -
1. Aai making tasty faral and being with me at home every single time no matter what β€
2. Me finding homestay - Airbnb to the rescue!
3. Is fresh, home-cooked available? Will the host provide it? checking.. checking.. more checking!
4. Looking for shops for bisleri bottle
Not to forget - medicines, mask, hygiene etc
When I finally make it - I get a feeling of victory for the day! β€
Thanks to my aai, my employers and team ππ and thanks to my all airbnb hosts as well!

Time and dose of our life-saving medicines are very crucial routine of post-transplant life.
Although I am confident most of the times, I get confused at times and keep getting verified from my mother. π
While many of us follow number of tricks to train ourselves, I am going to try this box-method now. (Earlier I had individual tiny-boxes)
1. Phone reminders are really helpful (also showing dose of the medicine)
2. Maintaining a daily record book helps
3. I neither call nor answer anyone's call 10-15 minutes prior to the medication time
4. And this method of filling medicines every night in the assigned spaces.
5. Most important, someone in our family who can remind us ( in my case, my mother β€)
I would like to know what tips and tricks do you follow.
P.S. : Please ignore my craft skills π

Woah! It's the 1st Anniversary of Doting Beans! β€π₯³ It's been a wonderful year since I started off with this blog and support platform. I still remember the day when I decided to start with this and was planning how to go about it. My mother, my source of inspiration and encouragement, was the first to whom I read my blogs. And this will always be the same! Her instant reaction is something I look forward to. π₯°
Doting Beans wouldn't have been possible without love, care, motivation and support of each one of you. I saw this as a dream but your immense support carved it into something beyond my imagination! ππ
I am very thankful to Prasanna Shirol Sir (Founder, ORDI) who motivated me to start a blog and share my journey with the kidney disease. Thanks so much to my mentors who gave me valuable and timely inputs. Thanks a ton to Prachi for designing a super awesome logo and posters! π Thank you Omkar for helping with the website development. π₯° Thank you so much Varad for developing mobile app of Doting Beans! π€ I am deeply grateful to my friends who wrote guest blogs - Aditya, Anomitra, Devashree and Janhavi. You all took this on an another level together. Thank you very much! π€β€π
Thank you everyone for sincerely and genuinely following all the blogs and giving me feedbacks, comments, wishes, virtual hugs and kisses, love, care and support! ππ
With Doting Beans, I got an opportunity to connect to many kind souls across the globe who were going through the similar situation and that indeed helped me to have a great support system around. π
Coincidentally I had a kidney transplant within last year that I had never thought would approach all of a sudden. But this initiative and your love gave me enough strength and positivity to face and recover from it. β€π€
Last but not the least I am extremely grateful to my wonderful family- parents, all the relatives and the Almighty due to whom I am here today. β€ππ
Kindly excuse me if I have missed anyone inadvertently in the flow of emotions. π
Once again, thanks a ton and lots of love! π
Starting with the further chapters and informative blogs very soon. Sorry for bearing with me. Stay tuned. π
