Citrus medica, commonly known as citron, is one of the original, ancestral citrus species and is highly significant in various Asian cultures, particularly In India.
The Mahalaxmi Devi Temple in Kolhapur, also known as Ambabai, is a highly revered Hindu shrine dedicated to the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, a significant Shakti Peetha in India.
Temple was first constructed around the 7th century AD, the goddess Mahalaxmi (Ambabai) holds a Citrus Medica (Citron) fruit, called locally as " mahalunga" in her lower right hand.
Asia and specially the Western Ghats region is known for its rich citrus diversity, including citron (Citrus medica).
citron originated in the westernmost part of Asia in comparison to other Citrus species. citron can be preserved for months due to its very thick albedo, resulting in a relatively long shelf life. Citron originated in the central Himalayan foothills.
Citrus medica was the first Citrus species to migrate west, citron was still being described as an exotic fruit.

Bhang or H**p plant grows wild like a w**d. The seeds of the plant called H**p seeds are very nutritious and used to make a variety of things.
The seeds have no psychoactive properties unlike its leaves.
In India h**p seeds are used to prepare h**p oil, also the inside almond of the h**p seed makes h**p milk which is a good substitute for vegans.
The seeds are very nutritious and high in protein, magnesium, good fats, calcium iron and fights cholesterol build up.
h**p seeds can be toasted and added to salads, pancakes, breads and so much more. the h**p oil can be used for cooking as well as for salad dressings.
H**p ki Chutney is easy, very tasty and safe to eat for all including children. In Uttarakhand it is eaten with main meal and some times just rolled with madua(ragi or finger millet) roti.
