Severe Hailstorm Ravages Apple Orchards in Haril Qalamabad of Handwara , Growers Face Heavy Losses

Qalamabad, June 9: A sudden and intense hailstorm wreaked havoc across Haril in Qalamabad, District kupwara causing extensive damage to apple orchards and dealing a major blow to local fruit growers.

The storm battered orchards with large hailstones, shredding leaves and severely damaging the young, developing apple crop. Farmers reported significant losses as the hailstorm struck at a crucial stage of the growing season.

With the harvest prospects now uncertain, orchardists have expressed concern over the financial impact of the damage, saying the season had shown promising signs before the unexpected weather event.

Local growers have urged authorities to assess the losses and provide necessary support to affected farmers. 🌨️🍎💔

The Child: A 9-year-old boy named Muhammad Midlaj T. from Kannur, Kerala, India.

The Timeline: He began transcribing the holy book in December 2022 when he was just six years old and completed the final page on May 26, 2025. The entire project took him exactly 2 years, 5 months, and 10 days.

The Manuscript: He dedicated roughly one hour each day to write all 30 parts (Juz) and 114 chapters (Surahs) using a pencil on 680 pages of A4-size paper. He strictly followed the rules of Tajweed and Arabic calligraphy.

Verification: His family supported him throughout the process, with his mother checking his work daily. After he finished, a team of Quran memorizers (Huffaz) spent two months cross-checking his text against standardized copies to confirm 100% accuracy.
