A significant number of armed Kuki militants, fully equipped with sophisticated weapons, launched an attack on Chawangkining Village yesterday at around 10:30 PM, with intermittent firing continuing until approximately 4:50 AM this morning.

The CRPF personnel stationed in the village responded to the attack and engaged the armed attackers for nearly six hours. Their prompt and sustained response successfully prevented the attackers from advancing further and helped protect the lives of innocent villagers during the prolonged exchange of fire.

During the attack, the armed attackers also managed to set fire to some structures in the village, causing damage to property.
However, following the arrival of reinforcement troops, the attackers subsequently withdrew from the area.

The Naga people deeply appreciate the courage and dedication demonstrated by the CRPF personnel in protecting civilians during this critical situation.
