Had a wonderful time hosting the BW BusinessWorld 'Urban Infra Conclave' in February. It was also a great opportunity to hear from the best minds in the fields of healthcare, education, real-estate, hospitality and learn about what is being done to tackle 'Urban Infrastructure', an issue that is sn*******ng not just in Bengaluru, but the world over.

I wanted my first FB post to be about a personality I enjoyed hosting and what better than it being on a day when that person brings laurels to the nation and continues to keep the tri-color flying high.

I had the privilege of hosting the pillar of Indian badminton for a corporate summit on the topic of ‘Coaching’! Probably the most inspirational talk I've ever heard and I had the best seat in the room! The passion and work ethic this man displays is unparalleled. He spent his time telling the audience about what goes on behind the scenes and the ridiculous, sickening work ethic needed to shine at the highest level.
Gopichand, you are an inspiration! Thank you for uniting a billion people once again.

Corporate Award Ceremonies: Building up the suspense and curiosity, keeping the energy and enthusiasm levels high and all this while ensuring you make the awardee feel special can be unnerving for the host! But I always live by 'Keep Calm and the Show is On'.

Talent Shows: Keeping a bunch of talented folks motivated on stage and ensuring that the audience complement the energy of the contestants and continue to stay upbeat through it all can be challenging. But where is the fun if it were all too easy? I'm always up for challenges!

Weddings and Parties: Trying my hand at hosting wedding events, I started off with hosting sangeeths and cocktail parties that went on to be a huge hit. Christened to be the ‘friendly’ host in my social circle, I thoroughly enjoy entertaining and keeping people happy on these joyous occasions.

Commentator, Corporate Sports Tournaments: Having commentated at various sports tournaments, the feeling of being greeted by a packed house each time you are entrusted with a mic is truly unmatched. Commentary and sports presenting definitely go down as things I hold very close to my heart, a passion which not only got me awards but also kept the passion in me burning!

Team Events: Exuding positive energy, connecting with the audience and getting them to see value in the sessions and activities are all key skills that make team events impactful, most of which I've gained through my experiences over time!

Corporate Summits: Right from ensuring top notch content quality to time management and seamless transition between sessions, it needs hosts to be on their toes and strike a fine balance between being well prepared and spontaneous. One value I've picked up from hosting them: Practice makes perfect.
