Every medium holds a story. Film · Performing arts · Culture · Brands
16+ years · 150+ films · Gurugram VARNAN FILMS PVT. LTD. Everyone loves a story. TELL A STORY!

Very few like describing them. That is where we at VARNAN come in. VARNAN, the Hindi word for 'a vivid description', for us is more than just a dictionary entry. It is the coming together of vivacity, imagination, creativity and passion, enabled by the tools of modern technology. It is the marriage of sound professional ethics with the universal values of truth and love. It is the labour of love of a few devoted individuals who have come together to do just one simple job.

Award-winning films. Intimate room. A screening experience you’ll want to say you were part of. 🎬

For unCurated by Varnan - Edition 1, we’re bringing award-winning films Two Way Street and Es**rt, directed by Asmit Pathare, to the Varnan studio for a special screening and conversation.

These are films that have travelled across festivals, sparked conversations, and stayed with audiences long after the credits rolled. And this time, they’re being experienced in a room full of people who genuinely love cinema and storytelling.

Powerful storytelliing, meaningful conversations and the kind of evening that feels rare to come by now.

Some evenings feel better when they’re shared with poetry and people who get it.

Join us for Kavita Paath, a warm, open gathering where stories unfold gently, poems are read and felt, and conversations flow without pressure. It’s the kind of space where you can bring a piece you love, share something of your own, or simply sit back and listen.

There’s no right way to be here - just come as you are, and let the room do the rest.

Sometimes, stories starts with a few people, a few conversations, and a shared way of seeing the world.

We’ve been building a community in Gurgaon for those who feel something when they experience art, who see culture as connection, not consumption.

A space where stories don’t just exist on screen, but between people.

If this feels like your kind of space, we’d love to have you with us.

Yes, it’s happening!

We are excited to share that we’re building something new.

unCurated by Varnan is an extension of what we’ve always believed in, something we’ve been thinking about, shaping, and holding close for a while.

A step towards creating spaces where art can breathe, grow, and be experienced more openly.

This is our attempt to create something simple yet meaningful.
We’ll be sharing more with you, slowly and thoughtfully :)

An intimate evening.
A room full of stories.
Moments that linger long after.

With Aarambh Mumbai’s production, Chandni Raatein – The Band, we set out to create something beyond a performance, an experience shaped by music, poetry, and storytelling.

But what stayed with us most was how it stayed with you.

Hear it from those who experienced it.

From Vernita’s diary
Over the years, I’ve seen filmmaking change. But in the last two years, it has changed faster than ever.
I remember the days of bulky cameras and tapes.

Only a few production houses owned them. The rest of us rented, planned carefully, and made every shot count. Shooting days were tighter, mistakes were expensive, and there was a certain discipline to the process.

Then came DVs. Things became slightly more accessible. We could shoot more, experiment more, and slowly, the gap between idea and ex*****on started reducing.

When we started Varnan 16 years ago, we stored every tape. Especially documentary footage. We still have hundreds of them. We call it our gold. Back then, footage felt physical. You could hold it, archive it, revisit it.

Editing meant sitting in studios for hours. Rendering took time. Changes were not instant. Every decision carried weight.

Corporate films had a different place. They were made to last. A shelf life of 3–5 years was normal. And yes, we charged a bomb for it.

There was time, budget, and intent behind each film.
Today, everything is faster.
Everyone owns a camera.

Shoots are lighter, quicker, more fluid.
Content is created in volumes.

Editing happens on laptops, sometimes even phones.
Cloud has replaced cupboards full of tapes.
But with that, attention spans have reduced.

Shelf life has shortened.
“Content” has replaced “films” in many conversations.

There is more access now. More creators. More stories being told. Which is a beautiful shift.
But somewhere, the pace has also changed how deeply we sit with a story.
A lot has changed.

What hasn’t changed is this
a good story still needs time, honesty, and someone who cares enough to tell it well.
And when that happens, it still stays.

When we think about this night, it’s the feeling that stays with us, the kind of magic that quietly finds its way in and lingers. Chandni Raatein – The Band didn’t just perform, they created something the audience carried with them.

At Varnan, we often speak about building space for art and culture in Gurgaon, and this felt like a step closer to that. Seeing the audience respond, connect, and be fully present in those moments is something we’re truly grateful for.

At Varnan, we believe some of the most meaningful moments aren’t loud; they’re simply felt.

This Thursday morning at The Earth Saviours Foundation was one of them, where Kabir bhajans by Arun Goyal ji became more than music; they became a shared experience.

For us, it wasn’t just curation; it was a moment we were living with everyone in the room.

In soft smiles, in stillness, in the way people slowly drew closer,
something unspoken connected everyone in the room.

Moments like these remind us that art doesn’t need a stage.
It simply needs a space and people willing to feel it together.

We are deeply touched by the kind of work the foundation is doing and grateful to have experienced it.

Still thinking about this one. 🌙

Some nights don’t really end, they just stay with you.
The storytelling, the romance, the music… and the kind of love only an audience like that can bring.

Everything felt a little more alive that evening.
On stage, in the silences, and somewhere in between.

And then the night carried on into laughter, conversations, and those slightly crazy moments no one plans, but everyone remembers. ✨

Thank you Aarambh Mumbai for trusting Varnan Films with this experience, and to Martini's Gurgaon for being the perfect space for it all to unfold.

Safe to say, we haven’t quite gotten over this night yet.

PS: Congratulations to Kaizad Gherda for bringing home the META Award. ✨
