Democratic Rights Forum -D.R.F

We have fruitful discussion with the people of Sampang village, Tisamkali & Elders of Jongsipara village under 13 West Goalpara Constituency ST Assam on 21/10/2025. We are focusing to the local community issues and specially the political aspirations of the tribal Communities living in Goalpara District of Assam. The meeting was attended by DRF Chairman Shri Markline Marak , Deputy Chairman Western Zone, Under Secretaries , Under Secretary Women Wings and Smt Marshilla Sangma ( Secretary APCC) was also present in the meeting.

Team of DRF is still on its own mission , A consulted meeting has held on 17/10/2025 in Bamundanga Village with local leaders in wake up of 2026 Assembly election for West Goalpara ST.

Our team is on the mission 2026.

DRF and its team interacting with the like-minded village leader of Chamaguri village during Focus Group discussion. Various issues were discussed and highlighted by village elders, while DRF will continue work for welfare of people and sensetised on various issues and its commitment to fulfill the aspirations of the people.

DRF has not abondoned indigenous people. Time will disclose the stand of DRF and its commitment for strengthening democracy. DRF team interacting with People of Majelburi village. We have also interacted with Mrs Maksaline Marak who for the first time step up in Ward Member towards her constituency in Gaon Panchayat elections. Her dedication towards her people will empower the women and youths in general.

DRF on its mission, Team of DRF visited Kongkal village and Hudakona harikonti village with a message for unify common people. While visiting one of Village we came across that there is unique soil and climate conditions still prevails in one of Garo dominated village in Goalpara i.e Hudakona harikonti where high quality of varieties of ho**ah to***co are being grown by villager . It has been learnt that most of the villager cultivated to***co during season from where they fetched huge monetary benefits ranging from Rupees one lakh to three lakhs. But the sad part is the villager is still struggling with bamboo bridge to cross the river despite of repeated survey carried out by line departments.

DRF and its team along with West- Goalpara A'chik Gaonburah & Senior Citizen's Forum under leadership of Shri Markline Marak Chairman DRF met retired police officer , and other influential persons of Upper Khermohora village and discuss way forward of the DRF activities . The team also met Miss-Benika Sangma one of A'chik young talented artists and song composer . We are very glad to know that she has been contesting in Panchayat elections as a ward member in Krishnai Gaon Panchayat wherein her symbol in ballot papers will be Airoplane. DRF will extend support and empower Our youth and women in any field be it politics, education , economic etc.

DRF and West Goalpara A'chik Gaonburah And Senior Citizen's Forum held a Focus group discussion in Darighopa village under Dwarka Gaon Panchayat of Goalpara District of Assam where various issues in wake of socio-political issues of Garo living in the areas had been discussed with village elders. Moreover A fruitful discussion on DRF's missions and way ahead of its activities had been discussed in FGD. Wherein two elders namely -Shri Noresh sangma & Shri Oletson Marak who had undergone in the prision in district Jail in Goalpara during 1974 for their protest against exclusion of Garo villages from Meghalaya, were also present in FGD and shared their deep connection for the A'chik people , villages in Assam .
