On December 17, 1927, Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru assassinated British officer John Saunders in Lahore to avenge Lala Lajpat Rai’s death. Along with Sukhdev Thapar, they were later executed, but their sacrifice remains a lasting symbol of courage and resistance in India’s freedom struggle.
