Constellations of the South ЁЯММтЬи

Beneath the southern skies of Kerala, the universe slowly revealed one of its most beautiful regions.

Captured near Harrison Malayalam Estate in Pathanamthitta, this frame holds the iconic constellations Crux and Centaurus rising together above the horizon. Hidden within Centaurus lies Omega Centauri, the largest globular cluster visible from Earth, a densely packed sphere containing millions of ancient stars.

ThereтАЩs something deeply humbling about looking toward the southern sky. Unlike the bright and familiar patterns we grow up with, these constellations feel distant, mysterious, almost untouched. Yet for a brief moment, they stood quietly above the hills, reminding me how much of the universe still waits to be explored.

Capture Details:

Astrophotography often feels like a conversation with time itself, every faint glow in this frame began its journey long before we ever looked up.

MahobaтАЩs students have not only looked at the stars, but have now taken a significant step towards understanding and discovering them.

The AIASC 2026 Mahoba Training Program concluded successfully with a 2 day Teachers Training Program held from 13 to 14 May, followed by a 6 day Student Training Program conducted from 15 to 20 May. Through this initiative, students were prepared for the two month International Asteroid Search Campaign 2026.

With the support of the District Administration Mahoba, more than 900 students and over 50 teachers were introduced to the world of real astronomical research. This initiative, led by SPACE India, gave the youth of Mahoba an opportunity to become part of a global NASA supported outreach programme.

This was not just a training programme, but an inspiring journey connecting young minds with science, space research and international exposure.

IndiaтАЩs young asteroid hunters are ready for launch ЁЯЪАЁЯММ

On May 7, 2026, students from 30+ schools across India gathered at Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, New Delhi, for the AIASC 2026 тАУ Phase 1 Training Workshop organized by SPACE India in collaboration with the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC), USA.

More than 100 students were trained to analyse real astronomical datasets from the Main Belt Asteroid region using Astrometrica тАФ the same software used by professional researchers worldwide. Their observations will be submitted directly to IASC, contributing to global citizen science and NASAтАЩs Near-Earth Object Program.

This is not a simulation. This is real science conducted by school students.

With Phase I of AIASC 2026 running from May 11 to June 5, these young astronomers are now prepared to search the skies and contribute to the future of space discovery.

The cosmos does not wait and neither do they. тЬи
