Lusaka, Zambia – June 18, 2025

A terrifying mystery is shaking Zambia after the strange death of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL). His body is stuck in a South African morgue, caught in a scary fight between his family and President Hakainde Hichilema (HH). This isn’t just about politics—it’s about a creepy spiritual power that must pass from a dead president to the living one. Without it, HH is being haunted by ECL’s angry ghost. People say HH is using dark tricks to steal this power because ECL’s family won’t allow it. If he fails, the ghosts won’t stop tormenting him, and Zambia could face big trouble.

A Country Scared Stiff

Zambia is already upset with arguments about politics. But ECL’s death in a Pretoria hospital last month has made things much scarier. His body hasn’t been brought back to Zambia yet, and his family won’t let HH see it. They say a special ritual must happen first, where ECL’s spirit hands over a secret power to HH. In Zambian stories, this power is like a magic key that lets the president rule without ghosts bothering him. If the ritual doesn’t happen, the dead president’s spirit will haunt the living one forever.

People close to HH say he’s already seeing ECL’s ghost. They say it shows up at night, with glowing red eyes and a creepy voice that says, “You can’t have my power.” Workers at State House are scared, saying they hear strange noises, like footsteps and whispers, in the halls. Some even saw blood dripping from walls in HH’s bedroom(Community House). “He wakes up screaming,” one worker said. “He says ECL’s ghost is choking him in his dreams.”

Dark Tricks and Evil Plans

HH is desperate to get the spiritual power, and rumors say he’s using bad ways to do it. People talk about secret meetings in the dark forests of Mumbwa, where HH works with strange witch doctors. They say he’s trying to steal ECL’s power without the family’s permission. A farmer who saw one of these rituals ran away, saying, “The ground was shaking, and HH was holding a knife, saying weird words. Then I saw ECL’s face in the shadows, screaming at him.”

ECL’s family is fighting back. They’ve called powerful healers from Eastern Province who say ECL’s spirit is angry and won’t let HH take the power. “The ancestors won’t allow it,” a family member said. “Until ECL’s body comes back to Zambia and we do the right ritual, his ghost will keep haunting HH.” They won’t let HH near the body, and some think he’s delaying its return on purpose to trap ECL’s spirit.

Trouble in Zambia and Beyond

This fight is making Zambia’s problems worse. People who support ECL are Silently protesting in Lusaka, Kitwe, and Ndola, shouting that HH is hiding something about ECL’s death. On X, people share scary stories with , like seeing ECL’s shadow standing on roads or hearing his voice in markets saying, “The power is mine.” One post said a bus driver saw ECL’s ghost in his mirror, pointing at State House.

In South Africa, the morgue where ECL’s body is kept is like a haunted house. Workers say lights flicker, doors slam, and they hear ECL’s voice crying out at night. One cleaner said the body moved by itself, its eyes opening to stare at her. “He’s not gone,” she said, quitting her job. The government says it’s just paperwork slowing things down, but many believe the body is cursed.

A Living Nightmare

Weird things are happening everywhere. Last week, HH’s cars got stuck in a thick, creepy fog on the Great East Road. Drivers swear they saw ECL’s ghost holding a glowing stick, glaring at HH. In Southern Province, animals are dying with no blood left, and ECL’s name is scratched into the dirt. At a big speech, HH fell to the ground, shouting, “He’s in my head!” before his guards pulled him away. He looks sick, with dark circles under his eyes, like he hasn’t slept in weeks.

Traditional leaders say Zambia is in danger. “If the ritual doesn’t happen, the ancestors will punish us,” one chief said. “We’ll get droughts, sickness, and worse.” Healers say ECL’s body must come back, and the family must agree to the ritual, or his ghost will keep causing trouble.

What Happens Next?

Zambia is scared, waiting for ECL’s body to return. The family says they’ll only do the ritual when they know the truth about his death. HH’s team says everything is fine, but people think he’s losing his mind, maybe even controlled by the dark magic he’s using. If the spiritual power isn’t handed over soon, ECL’s ghost could bring terrible things—ghosts everywhere, dead crops, and a cursed president.

Will HH get the power he wants, or will ECL’s ghost keep haunting him, dragging Zambia into a nightmare that never ends?

TOP TWO AT IMMIGRATION DEPT SEARCHED, ONE FOUND WITH K1.4M

Information reaching the Zambian Whistleblower indicates that Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) conducted a search on premises belonging to Director General of Immigration, Jeff Lishomwa and one of his three Deputies, Enos Chibombe, in an investigation whose purpose has not been disclosed.

Sources have told the Zambian Whidtleblower that one of the two Enos Chibombe was found with cash amounting to K1.4 million.

It is understood that their troubles have been instigated by the wife and son of a senior cabinet Minister who run an immigration and work permit facilitation service business.

"The owners of this private operation claim that Lishomwa and Chibombe have been giving them a tough time. So they used their own very powerful connections at senior government and police levels," the sources said.

But apparently there is no sympathy for the two within Immigration Departmemt because they were instrumental in hounding out former Director General Anderson Lungu..

Enos's Chibombe's wife Doris Nayame is former Deputy Inspector General of Police incharge of administration who was replaced by former Director General of the Drug Enforcement Commission ( DEC) Alita Mbawe.

The operating is also reported to have taken other security wings by surprise, especially that it was against two very senior officers.

Now ZESCO extends load shedding to 20 hours

ZESCO Limited has announced the introduction of extended load shedding of up to 20 hours in Lusaka, citing a significant power supply shortfall.

This development comes as the country has continued to grapple with multiple challenges affecting electricity generation and distribution.

According to a power supply update released by Zesco spokesperson Matongo Maumbi yesterday, the shortfall is primarily attributed to the commencement of annual plant maintenance by Maamba Energy.

“This maintenance, which began today, Tuesday, 27 August 2024, has led to the unavailability of 150 megawatts on the national grid. The maintenance process is expected to last for the next 15 days. In addition to the maintenance work, Zesco is also facing constraints on its power import route via Namibia,” Mr Maumbi said.
