Honoring Teachers - Teaching from the Didache
Why would the Didache instruct believers to honor teachers as they would honor Yeshua himself? Toby Janicki draws parallels between the Didache, various New Testament texts, and a chasidic concept developed much later in Judaism to show how Yeshua is present with his words when they are spoken even in his absence.
Toby Janicki is the author of "The Way of Life" a comprehensive commentary on the Didache. For more information visit: http://ffoz.org/didache
Thoughts lead to actions - Teaching from the Didache
Harnessing one's thoughts is the key to righteous living. Toby Janicki brings a teaching from the Didache and the Sermon on the Mount to show how our thoughts lead to actions and minor offenses lead to major ones.
Contrasting Character Traits - Teaching from the Didache
The Didache lists character traits a believer ought to rid oneself of and others that should be acquired. Toby Janicki illustrates how removing a bad trait is the first step to acquiring a new trait. What other insights might be gleaned from these verses in the Didache?
Ten Commandments in the Didache
The second chapter of the Didache expands upon the Ten Commandments but pays particular attention to only the last five commandments. Toby Janicki expands why this may have been based upon the audience of the Didache and their particular situation.
The Golden Rule - Teaching from the Didache
The Didache spends a great deal of space expounding on the central Biblical command to love your neighbor. But what does it mean to love your neighbor "as yourself"?
The Way of Life - Teaching from the Didache
The Didache lays out the love of God and love of fellow as two foundational principles that make up the Way of Life. These are two commands that come from the Torah itself, but Toby Janicki illustrates how the teachings of Yeshua and the apostles guide us in understanding how to apply these commands.

Actions or Beliefs - Teaching from the Didache
The Didache's teachings are not primarily focused on the right things to believe, but rather on the right ways to live. Do you find that you are focused more on action or on belief? In this short Toby Janicki draws parallels between the Didache and Yeshua's teachings as well as the book of James.
Choosing the Way of Life - Teaching from the Didache
Yeshua taught his disciples to enter through the narrow gate that leads to life. This echoes Moses' instructions to choose the way of blessing that comes from obedience to the Torah. The Didache picks up on this biblical theme and opens with a teaching on the choice gentile disciples of Yeshua must make between two ways - the way of life and the way of death.
Toby Janicki brings a short teaching connecting these themes seen throughout the sacred texts. Janicki is the author of "The Way of Life" a comprehensive commentary on the Didache. For more information visit: http://ffoz.org/didache

The Didache is an Ethical Guidebook
What did faith in Messiah originally look like? This is a key ingredient of discipleship that the Didache addresses. Its focus on ethics and directly drawing from Yeshua's own words and teachings will assist believers today to strengthen their faith by returning to some of the specific disciplines it mentions that have apparently been lost through centuries. http://vineofdavid.org/resources/books/the-way-of-life/

Is the Didache on Par with the Bible?
Toby Janicki, author of The Way of Life, a new commentary on the Didache, explains that Vine of David does not put the text of the Didache on par with that of other New Testament books, but emphasizes that the Didache was highly regarded by the early church fathers, and even viewed as Scripture by some.
