Am Montag fand bereits zum 18. Mal die Israeli-Palestinian Joint Memorial Day Ceremony statt. Zusammen mit dem W***y Brandt Center Jerusalem organisierten wir eine Live-Übertragung der Gedenkfeier. Es war eine berührende Veranstaltung, bei der Familien über deren Verluste sprachen. Sie drückten aber auch ihre Hoffnung auf eine friedvolle Zukunft aus.
Wir hoffen, dass solche Augenblicke helfen die Menschlichkeit in einander zu sehen!

Join us this Wednesday 15th of March for the book launch of “My Voice - Excerpts of the Art of Writing” at 5:00 PM at Dar AlMajus.

Four young Palestinians joined the “My Voice” project by the W***y Brandt center in Jerusalem as a group of friends who wrote for competitions in college, for conceivable self-contentment, and beyond all other considerations, for the desolate stories shadowing their brains. During the sessions, and the joyless weeks between them, they for once felt equal to the ones whom they read for but never able to behold; they poured in their remarks, fictional inputs and the ever enduring question to every writer: What is my voice? An apprehension, intense, from the leaf to the root, to grasp such knowledge from each author they met was possible.

Wir haben uns mit den WBC-Mitarbeiterinnen Marlene Hahnenwald, Hanna Reichhardt und Wiebke Warkentin über ihre Arbeit und zu Möglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit im Bereich der kulturellen Bildung ausgetauscht.

Das W***y Brandt Center Jerusalem ist als Begegnungs- und Kommunikationszentrum auf der „Grünen Linie“ sehr vielfältig unterwegs. Seit mehr als 25 Jahren unterstützen das WBC und seine Partner:innen gewaltfreie Formen der Konfliktbearbeitung - dabei spielen auch Kunst und Kultur eine wichtige Rolle.

Wir nehmen wichtige Anregungen mit ins Saarland. Danke an das WBC-Team für den spannenden Austausch!
