Countless experiences, moments, people and encounters…
It's all too much for one post, and anyway each group deserves their own… So I'll break it down 😊
First, I had my first ever (!) Taglit-Birthright Israel !!
When young 20-something (and two 30-something!) year olds come together from across the western United Sates to discover their Jewish heritage and the land of Israel, magic happens. Every moment on this trip was an opportunity for growth, learning, connection and I am so honored to have been able to be on this journey with my participants, who taught me as much as I did them.
Shout out to the unbelievable facilitators MAYANOT: Taglit-Birthright Israel and מסע יהודי It was a pleasure working with such wonderful and hard-working people on this trip. Thank you!

Charles and Nicole met on our birthright trip 7 years ago. (It's the ultimate Birthright dream! MAYANOT: Taglit-Birthright Israel ) Mazal Tov to you and to the entire Seltzer and Farage families. So sorry we couldn't make it there in person!
And Sami and Josh were already a couple when she transferred in to USC. It's so special to see your story continue now on to building a home together. Mazal Tov to you and the Viterbi and Lurie families!
We are heading into Shabbat at the Kotel with 25 other mayanot groups; that’s over 900 students and Rabbi’s!
An authentic Shabbat experience in Jerusalem is just getting started.

“I love all of Israel, but my happy place is the beautiful market of Jerusalem.
I was born and raised in Jerusalem, and today live in the Machane Yehuda neighborhood, right next to the famous market.
Over the past few years, I have guided many groups of tourists from all over the world such as Taglit-Birthright Israel , NCSY Summer and many more.
I decided to combine my love for people, Jerusalem, and good high-quality food. Therefore, I opened a young and vibrant venture for culinary food tours at Machane Yehuda market, which is literally my back yard.
I love the shuk for many reasons. The beautiful and colorful alleyways, the warm hearted people, the fact that it’s one of the most recognizable icons of the city, the unique scene that takes place only here, one can see the city's elders drink strong black coffee and play backgammon as they walk alongside the colorful vegetable stands and tourists who come to the market from all over the world.
COVID-19 kind of changes the whole picture. No more tourists for now. The shuk & tours have been half closed during this period. My friends from the market struggle to survive and to go through this hard time.
Lockdown made us all think outside the box, so I decided to put together a breakfast box from the best of the best of Mahane Yehuda market! A cooperation between me and my friends from the market. Each package contains handmade dips, drinks and pastries, fresh bread, plenty of fruits and vegetables from the market, boutique cheeses and more!
