*Pregnancy Circle*
Hi! We're Jordana and Lea, doulas and birth educators creating a supportive space where pregnant women gather to learn, share, and be together. The Pregnancy Circle takes place every six weeks or so, and our next meeting is on Friday, February 16th, from 10:00 to 11:30 on Adam Street in Jerusalem. There's a new topic at every meeting, and in this meeting, we'll explore "Bonding with Baby from Within." We'll learn about baby-parent connections in pregnancy, how to feel your baby's position, and more!
The cost for each participant is 80 nis (60 nis for doula clients of ours) and there’s no need to commit to more than one meeting at a time—although we’re sure you’ll want to come again once you try it! After the guided group meeting, there will be time to connect with each other and enjoy a relaxing morning together having coffee, tea, and snacks that will be provided.
Join our WhatsApp group for more information (link in first comment) or register directly by contacting Lea at 0584302519 or Jordana at 0585802732.

“The way you drew her is how your presence as a doula feels. Peaceful yet vibrant”
thank you for this great comment!!
I drew this picture from memory after a recent birth. We had made it to the delivery room and she was ready to push. Each time she had the urge, she gathered herself, turned inward, and did what her body told her to do. When the wave had passed, she rested. Her resting position was one of strength, power, and royalty. I didn’t have anything with me at the time; I was fully involved in the moment and she needed me by her side. Her pose was so inspiring that I thought to myself “I have to draw this.” So I took a mental image, and after I got home and slept for a bit, I drew her. (Drawing shared with client’s permission).

Had a great time today at the wonderful Sarah Seymour’s Deep Dive for Doulas!!

We learned all about CTG monitors and how they can influence your medical team’s decisions about your birth. It was very informative, and lovely to meet everyone in a supportive warm environment! Looking forward to next month’s meeting.
Thank you, Sarah!

Had an amazing time at the Spinning Babies course today! I’m committed to helping YOU to have a more comfortable pregnancy and an easier labor by making more room for your baby in the womb and returning your body to balance. The revolutionary, research-proven method that Spinning Babies teaches is giving me excellent tools to do just that, and I can’t wait to put them into practice!

Thank you to my friend and fellow doula Shira Ben Atar Mizrahi for being my practice partner today! 😘

So, your due date is approaching and you’re getting ready for the big day. You can’t wait to meet the newest addition to your family! But have you packed everything you’ll need for the birth?

It’s a good idea to have a hospital bag packed by week 36-37, so you’re ready no matter what.

People often ask me what they should bring to the hospital when they go into labor. I provide my clients with a comprehensive checklist of everything you may want to bring for the birth and the first few days afterwards. Here are a few helpful items that you may not have thought to pack:

1. Food— Pack some nuts, dates, dark chocolate, or anything else you like that packs easily for a quick boost of energy when you need it most!
2. Flip flops/shower shoes— Easy to slip on, good to have for showering or walking around the maternity ward.
3. Comfortable clothes that are easy to nurse in— While the hospital will provide a gown for you, you don't have to wear it all the time! You may be more comfortable in your own clothes, and it might help you to feel more like a capable, strong new mother and less like a patient.
4. Soaps and lotions— using the hygiene products you like, with their familiar scents and silky feel can contribute a lot to your mood, wellbeing and comfort after birth.
5. Portable fan— whether battery powered or simply handheld, the cool breeze on your face and neck can be a huge relief when you get hot during labor.

What do you think is the most important thing to pack in your hospital bag? Let us know in the comments below!

Just got home! I’m exhausted, it’s been a long day. Twelve hours in the delivery room with a wonderful first-time mom who did incredibly well, and the smile on her face when she saw her baby girl for the first time made it all worth it. Love this job! ❤️❤️

Hi! I'm Jordana.
I made Aliyah to Israel in 2015, and I've been living in Jerusalem since 2018. I speak fluent English and Hebrew. I have always been inspired by the intuition, tenacity and strength of women, and amazed by the miracle of birth. As I began to learn more about the birth culture in Israel, and in society as a whole, I was made aware of the significant role that doulas have in creating a positive birth experience for the women and families they serve. It is my passion to provide families with the support they need surrounding the birth process, and to ensure that they have a safe, rewarding and empowering experience. This is why I became a certified doula. I believe in the strength of your body and spirit throughout your pregnancy and birth, and I'd be delighted to be able to guide and assist you along the way with love, reassurance and comfort. As your doula, my goal is to support you, while empowering you to believe in yourself and your ability to birth.

My services:
I am happy to provide support in both English and Hebrew to mothers-to-be in the broader Jerusalem area.

Doula package includes:
-Initial phone call
-Intro meeting
-2 Birth Prep meetings
-24 hour phone support
-Labor and Birth support
-Follow up visit
-Option for additional meetings

All at a GREAT price!

Excited to share that after completing additional training with Home Birth Midwife Sarah Seymour, I have received a certificate in Home Birth for Doulas! Contact me to hear how hiring a doula can contribute to your home birth experience!

While home birth is not the right choice for everyone, for many families it can be a beautiful, safe, healthy, healing, and empowering way to experience birth.

It is my passion to help you have the best birth experience possible, wherever you choose to give birth! If you’d like to explore the option of having a home birth, or if you’ve already decided on a home birth and are interested in adding a doula to your birth team, feel free to be in touch!

A little over a week ago, I was thrilled to attend the certification ceremony for my doula course from Michlelet Laledet ללדת המכללה הארצית למקצועות הלידה in Tel Aviv. The course, which we finished almost a year ago, taught me tons of new knowledge, gave me valuable experiences and connected me to a group of wonderful women from diverse backgrounds, each with a heart of gold and a desire to help others. I am so grateful to my teachers Chaya Shimon and Ahuva Hila Hen for the support, the love, and the community that they’ve created. Here’s to many more easy and joyous births!! 💛🌻💛🌻💛
