𝙒𝙍𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙐𝙋𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙀

This year so far has been spent up close and personal with a lot of sheep. Long days, late nights, lots of ups and a few downs, but we've reached the point where they're all out enjoying the damp Irish weather.

So time to get back to my other passion - my characters and their stories.

𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙬 𝘽𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 and 𝘿𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙣 are the two books I'm going to give the most attention to. I'm way past the halfway mark on both so I should be able to get them out this year.

I also have to launch my 10th (now 11th) Anniversary Ares on Kickstarter PLUS I'm just about to send Breaking Phoenix off for swanky formatting and to have the illustrations added.

I've been plotting and planning in the background while 'sheeping' so there's loads more to come.

I've been a little quiet online lately but I have been working hard behind the scenes. After kicking some writers block in the ass, I've caught up over the last few weeks. These word counts are scenes that are in order. It doesn't include random scenes that I haven't read through again or put in place in the story. The actual word count for each book is a lot higher.

I'm hoping to keep this burst up for the next two weeks now I've got my mojo back.

The swanky special edition should be back from formatting next week. This version will have 16 full page colour illustrations, foiled hardcover, sprayed edges, plus more fancy formatting. I still plan on running this campaign this year. I just want to have the formatted version before I go ahead. It needs to be perfect!

I was minding my own business yesterday, spending some time with Damon, when he throws this at me. It came out of nowhere. I didn’t even realise he was going to say it until it appeared on the screen.

But who am I to argue with The Boogeyman himself? 😈

So what does the lovely Eve do? Well… she runs, of course 😏

Definitely my rockstar, Dillon Ryan. He’s got a criminal record, gets into fights, has a reputation for sleeping around, says it like it is, and he’s definitely not someone you want to get on the wrong side of.

But there's so much more to the bad boy of 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨.

In 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠, I couldn’t quite picture him. In 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠, I learned that he would put his life on the line for his friends—and I started discovering sides of him I hadn’t imagined. In 𝙎𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙩 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠, his nurturing side came through, and in 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠, he truly came into his own, going above and beyond to save his best friend’s life. By the time we get to his book, 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠, he’s firmly claimed the spot as one of the most complex and addictive characters in my world.

He’s tough and no-nonsense on the surface, but deep down he’s just desperate to be loved—even though he’s in love with someone who can’t love him back.

He’s been through so much in his life, and I’m still learning how deeply it’s affected him. He’d give his life for his friends, always putting them before himself, which is exactly why he spirals as hard as he does. But he’s a fighter—and I can’t wait to see how he faces the biggest challenge I’m about to throw at him in his next book, 𝙏𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙠.

𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧. 𝙃𝙚'𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 - 𝙤𝙧 𝙪𝙨.

My illustrator has just a few more drawings to finish before I have the full set for Breaking Phoenix. I know I say this about all my books, but my vampires really are some of my favourites — and it all begins with Phoenix “Nix” and Court.

I still don’t know if Court will ever get his memory back. We’ll have to see what happens as the series continues. What I do know is that his past is going to cause both Court and the Blackjacks some serious headaches in the next book, Defending Rhain.

I’m not sure what the future holds for Nix and Court, but one thing’s certain — their story is far from over.
