Residents in Wicklow protest after a family resource centre was closed and forced to relocate The centre says it made the move as it can't afford an increase in rents on the budget it currently receives. Our reporter Helen Donohue was in Greystones.
We are so fortunate here at Midleton FRC to have such a beautiful garden. It's loved by so many, but maintained by just a few!
A MASSIVE thank you to Caroline and Marie for all the care, hard work, and dedication they put into keeping everything thriving.
A big thank you as well to our pre-schools for all their enthusiasm in helping to plant, grow, and, of course, enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of their hard work.
Teach a child the skill of gardening, and you give them so much more than the ability to grow plants—you nurture patience, responsibility, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.
Thank you to everyone who helps make our garden such a special place

.It was a real privilege for us at Midleton FRC to hear from Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly, a long-standing supporter and champion of the National Family Resource Centre Programme. Her words were both inspiring and deeply affirming of the work happening every day in communities like ours.
She shared: “Having travelled the length and breadth of Ireland, I have seen first-hand both the importance and the very real impact of the work you do. Indeed, following my inauguration, in setting my own priorities as President, shining a light on your work was top of my list.”
To hear that recognition at national level means so much — not just to our team, but to every family, volunteer, partner and community member who makes Midleton FRC what it is. It reminds us that local connection, support and belonging truly matter.
We were also delighted to hear from Norma Foley, Minister for Children, Disabilities and Equality, who acknowledged the invaluable role Family Resource Centres play in creating stronger, healthier and more inclusive communities.
Moments like these reinforce why we do what we do — and strengthen our commitment to continuing to support and empower our community here in Midleton.
