As part of the Africa Day celebrations in Fingal on 30th May, we were honoured to hear a speech from Tom Kitt, Mayor’s Representative of Fingal County Council.

The address reflected on the meaning of Africa Day, the richness of African cultures, and the importance of diversity and inclusion in Fingal.

Key highlights included:

“Africa Day is a moment that recognises the richness, diversity, and global contributions of African cultures, histories, and communities.”

“Africa is not a single story, but a continent of many voices, cultures, and experiences.”

“Migration is never a simple journey. It carries sacrifice, hope, courage, and determination.”

“At a time when misinformation and division can spread easily, spaces like this matter more than ever.”

The speech also acknowledged the vibrant African communities in Fingal and their contributions to cultural, social, and community life.

We sincerely thank Fingal County Council for their presence and continued support, and Children 4 World Children International and partner organisations for delivering a successful Africa Day celebration.
