💫 WORLD PREMIERE PERFORMANCE 💫
This Sunday afternoon, Crash premieres Everything is Connected, a bold and inclusive new work by acclaimed Irish composer Ed Bennett, created with collaboration and community at its core.
Commissioned by Crash, the project brings together members of the ensemble with local musicians and performers from diverse musical backgrounds.
For this world premiere concert, we will be joined by Wexford’s WindJammers in a compelling presentation of Bennett’s expansive and energetic score.
Everything is Connected celebrates collaboration, connection, and the collective energy of live performance - an ambitious new work that showcases community musicians alongside one of Ireland’s leading contemporary ensembles.

We are pleased to invite applications for its 2026 Musician Internship Programme. This paid opportunity offers emerging musicians the chance to work alongside members of Crash.
This internship offers a side-by-side mentorship opportunity through rehearsals, workshops, and performance. Designed to support artistic development and provide insight into professional ensemble practice, the internship combines hands-on experience with dedicated mentorship in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
In 2023 Crash Ensemble published its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Action Plan. Included in this policy is a commitment to deliver a mentoring programme with paid internship opportunities.
Crash are committed to policies supporting equality and inclusion and we welcome and encourage applications representative of the ten characteristics as outlined in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy - age, disability, gender, marital/civil status, family status, race, religion/politics, sexual orientation, membership of the travelling community and socio-economic status.

We are proud announce ‘Everything Is Connected’, a bold new large-scale project by acclaimed Irish composer Ed Bennett, touring to venues across Ireland in 2026.
At its heart, this ambitious work places collaboration, community, and shared experience centre stage, bringing Crash together with local musicians, choirs, and performers in each location.
Commissioned by Crash, ‘Everything Is Connected’ unfolds as an open, collaborative musical space, where professional performers and community participants make music together. Tonight ✨Tune in from 7.30pm to hear Crash live on BBC Radio 3 - live from our sold out concert in London 📻
Grammy Award-winning singer, composer, ace fiddle player and banjo virtuoso has breathed fresh life into the realms of folk and country music, won a Pulitzer Prize for Music for her opera Omar, and forged electrifying creative partnerships with a multitude of like-minded boundary breakers. For the last of her Residency concerts at Wigmore Hall, she joins forces with fellow Grammy-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist and ourselves.
The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and available on BBC Sounds for 30 days afterwards.

’s Land of Winter has received major international acclaim - earning a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Classical Composition and winning a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance ().
Following its Irish premiere with Crash at (2025) and its Dublin debut at (2026), we’re delighted to bring this extraordinary work to Kilkenny this summer.
Rooted in Dennehy’s fascination with time, light, and cyclical processes, Land of Winter takes inspiration from Ireland’s Roman name, Hibernia. Across 12 movements - one for each month - the piece explores themes of seasonal return, memory, and renewal.

Crash Ensemble premieres ‘Everything is Connected’, a bold and inclusive new work by acclaimed Irish composer Ed Bennett, created with collaboration and community at its core.
Commissioned by Crash, the project brings together members of the ensemble with local musicians and performers from diverse musical backgrounds in a dynamic live performance showcasing the possibilities of collaborative performance.
For this world premiere concert, Crash are joined by Wexford’s WindJammers in a compelling presentation of Bennett’s expansive and energetic score.
Described by The Guardian as creating “unclassifiable, raw-nerve music of huge energy and imagination”, Bennett is one of Ireland’s most distinctive contemporary composers. His work spans orchestral music, opera, electronic music, installations and film, and has been commissioned and performed internationally by organisations including the BBC, RTÉ and Music Network. In 2024, he was elected to Aosdána in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the creative arts in Ireland.

📣 Introducing Crash Artist-In-Residence Sam Redway
is an international award-winning, multi-disciplinary dramaturg, director, and writer with a deep passion for co-creation, climate-focused arts practice, and creative democracy. His work crosses theatre, opera, new music, and community performance and is always informed by equitable practice and the empowered performer.
Alongside the project with Crash, he is currently developing Don’t Step on the Cracks as librettist with Laura Bowler and the Youth Opera Company for Royal Ballet & Opera and a co-created opera with NHS workers and the Manchester Medical Orchestra composed by Dave Roche and directed by Felicity Green.
During his residency, Sam will work closely with Crash’s musicians to develop new work which has been co-commissioned by Crash Ensemble and ❤️

📣 Introducing Crash Artist-In-Residence Laura Bowler
is a composer and vocalist working across music theatre, multidisciplinary performance, concert music and opera. Her work brings together composition and performance, often placing her own voice at the centre of theatrical musical forms.
She has been commissioned internationally by ensembles and orchestras including BBC Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Goteborg Symfoniker, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Decoder Ensemble, Ensemble Phace, Basel Sinfonietta, Royal Opera House and lovemusic collective. Her work, Wicked Problems, won the Royal Philharmonic Chamber Composition Prize, and several of her works have been shortlisted for the Ivor Awards.
Recent projects include several large-scale multimedia music theatre works presented at festivals across Europe, as well as a new 30 minute orchestral song cycle for Barbara Hannigan setting text by Nobel Prize winning author, Han Kang. Laura is the Deputy Head of Composition at the Royal Northern College of Music.
During her residency, Laura will work closely with Crash’s musicians to develop new work which has been co-commissioned by Crash Ensemble and Kilkenny Arts Festival ❤️
