Get Involved – Inchicore Community Sports & Wellbeing Day

We’re excited to announce the Inchicore Community Sports & Wellbeing Day, taking place on
📅 Saturday 27 June 2026
⏰ 10:00–13:00
📍 Richmond Barracks (wellness programme) & Inchicore Community Sports Centre (sports & fitness)

This event is being organised by Inchicore for All, in collaboration with Dublin City Council Culture Company, Dublin South City Partnership, Inchicore Community Sports Centre, AkiDwA and Inchicore College.

The morning will be a fun, inclusive celebration of everything our community has to offer – bringing together local sports clubs, wellbeing groups, activities and support services to help people connect, get involved and feel part of Inchicore 💚

We’re inviting local groups to take part! You can:
✅ Host an info stand
✅ Run a short taster session (15–30 mins)
✅ Join a talk or panel discussion

We’re especially keen to showcase a diverse mix of activities and supports, so please share this with any clubs or groups you know 🙌

💬 This is a voluntary event, so funding is limited, but small support may be available if needed (e.g. facilitator costs)

As part of the Dublin Thriving City for All Festival, join us for a fun and feel‑good afternoon celebrating community and the circular economy.

🗓 Saturday 30th May
⏰ 2.00 – 4.30pm
📍 Bera Hall, Inchicore

✨ Breathe new life into your worn or torn clothing at our upcycling workshop
👕 Swap good-quality clothes for tokens and choose new‑to‑you items
👟 Men’s, women’s & children’s clothes, shoes and accessories welcome
✅ All donations must be clean and in good condition
🎶 Entertainment and snacks provided
🎟 Extra tokens available on request for people in IPAS, unemployed people and students

All welcome. No need to bring anything if you don’t have anything to swap. There will be plenty to go around.

Disability Awareness Workshop

This practical workshop is led by a Blind Access Ambassador and helps us understand disability and how to support people better in our community.

You’ll learn:
* What disability means (and how barriers create exclusion)
* Different types of vision loss
* How to support someone respectfully
* How small actions can make a big difference

Inchicore for All and Kilmainham Inchicore Heritage Group come together during the Culture Date with Dublin 8 festival this year for a talk on the heritage of our local area.
"The Story of Inchicore/Kilmainham in Seven Landmarks" will look at seven structures that we see around us and use their stories to summarise the 1,000-year history of how the area developed. This talk will be a 'beginners' guide' to the story of Inchicore-Kilmainham and will be of particular interest to adults and young people new to the area who would like an introduction to its heritage.

Following our AGM, we’re planning a year filled with days out, summer camps, language exchange, wellbeing events, youth outreach, our buddy system and more. With integration funding secured, we have a real opportunity to make 2026 our most impactful year yet — but we can’t do it without you.

Whether you have lots of time or just a little, specific skills or simply enthusiasm, there’s a place for you here.

As you start taking out your Christmas jumpers and pyjamas this week, please remember our Inchicore for All Christmas Jumper Swap!

We’ll be at the St Patrick's Athletic FC Christmas Market in Richmond Park on Saturday 13th December, 3–6pm.

Bring your much-loved but outgrown Christmas jumpers and swap them for something “new to you”! 🎅🧣

If you don’t have anything to swap, that’s totally fine — you can still take a jumper and give a small donation instead. Free for IPAS residents. 💚

If you can’t make it but want to donate clothes, send us a message and we’ll arrange collection. Please share this message with your friends and neighbours.

This is a huge milestone for our group — it means we can keep running our favourite events and start new projects that bring our whole community together 💚
