# # About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and self-driven Full Stack Software Engineer to own the development, maintenance, and evolution of **simvictus.com**. This is a hands-on role where you will work across the entire technology stack — from the front-end user experience to back-end services, third-party integrations, database management, and cloud infrastructure. You will be the go-to engineer responsible for keeping the platform performant, reliable, and scalable.

# # What You'll Do

- Design, develop, and maintain features across the full stack of simvictus.com using **Node.js**, **React.js**, and **MongoDB**.
- Build and maintain integrations with **Stripe** (payments, subscriptions, invoicing), **Shipment APIs** (carrier rate shopping, label generation, tracking), and **Tax APIs** (tax calculation and compliance).
- Manage the application's deployment, monitoring, and scaling on **AWS** (e.g., EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, RDS, or equivalent services).
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Optimise application performance, database queries, and API response times.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable deployments.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the technical roadmap.
- Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with relevant standards.

# # What We're Looking For

# # # Required

- **3+ years** of professional experience building and shipping web applications.
- Strong proficiency in **Node.js** for server-side development (Express or similar frameworks).
- Strong proficiency in **React.js** for building modern, responsive front-end interfaces.
- Solid experience with **MongoDB** — schema design, aggregation pipelines, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience integrating and maintaining **payment systems** (Stripe preferred), **shipping/logistics APIs**, and **tax calculation services**.
- Practical experience deploying and managing applications on **AWS** — comfortable with services such as EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and webhook handling.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of features from concept to production.

- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes).
- Experience with server-side rendering (Next.js) or static site generation.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, order management, or fulfilment workflows.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana or similar).
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress, or Playwright).
