A fresh new bloom for Wildflower Bakery!
Thrilled to have transformed this charming spot for Wildflower, with a full garden refresh.
We rebuilt the raised beds for a future edible plot, planted an ornamental garden, and created a bright, welcoming space for all the staff to enjoy - just in time for the sunny season!
Big thanks to the legend himself, Chris, for choosing Rootball to bring it all to life!

I planted these bareroot Prunus laurocerasus 'Novita', Cherry Laurel, for a client recently. We chose this as the client wanted a fast growing dense hedge that will provide good privacy in time. I tend to dig a trench when planting a lot of bareroot plants, I find it easier to keep a good line and it's better for root establishment. Planting to the same depth as originally planted and loosen up soil in the trench to help roots spread out. I will be mulching these younger plants to help keep moisture in. Watering is very important in the first year of planting while roots develope.

This Pieris japonica 'Foest Flame' got a new lease of life with a well needed cut back. It had gotten too big for the space so I lifted the crown and exposed the wondefuly textured bark beneath. I really enjoy changing existing plants/shrubs/trees. Altering the shape or maybe reducing the size can give them a fresh look. Great for to look at and great for the plant too.
Have you any plants that could do with a trim?
Purnning back this Camellia japonica 'Elegans' and Rhododendron ponticum 'Pink Pearl' for a regular customer today. Both can take a hard prunning after flowering, the Rhododendron more so. I tend to use my secateurs for this job as the hedge trimmer leaves a very clean shape. My secateurs allows me to cut back and keep a natural look to the plant. I also lifted the crown of the Rhododendron to show off its multi stemmed trunk.

If you happen to see any of these poka dot ladies about your garden, either around ornamental or even better around your veg patch..... DANCE!! You got a helper that you may not have known of until now. Ladybirds are predators and they prey on pests like aphids that can wipe out plants.

Cleaning up this bed for a customer recently. I will be back again once weather has warmed up a little more to plant in some ground cover plants along with others. 🪴☀️
