Cold weather can have a serious impact on the life and functionality of defibrillator batteries. When temperatures drop, the gel in electrode pads can freeze, making them ineffective. Extreme cold can also harm the internal parts of a defibrillator, which could lead to malfunctions or even total failure.
Itβs crucial to check the storage conditions of your AEDs, whether they're in your vehicle, an unheated cabinet, a dressing room, or any building. For more details, make sure to consult the manufacturer's recommendations.

Wishing everyone a safe Halloween! π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ¦Έπ·πΈ
With evenings dark at this time of year, itβs important to ensure that both adults and children can be seen when out and about, particularly if you are out trick or treating. Ideally your child should wear light coloured clothing, have a reflective strip on the front and back, or a high visibility vest and carry a torch. It is a good idea to avoid poorly lit areas and use footpaths where available.
If you are driving at Halloween, remember to slow down and watch out for children in dark costumes.
