As fire activity begins to increase across our region, we’d like to take a moment to recognise the incredible volunteers who make up the Gatton Springdale Rural Fire Brigade.

Behind every yellow truck is an ordinary person—a parent, partner, worker, farmer, friend or neighbour—who is willing to leave everything behind when the pager sounds. Whether it’s in the middle of dinner, late at night or during a family celebration, our volunteers answer the call because protecting our community matters.

While our firefighters are the visible face of the brigade, we simply couldn’t function without the dedication and commitment of our behind-the-scenes team. A sincere thank you to our Secretary and Treasurer for the significant amount of work they do quietly in the background to ensure our brigade runs smoothly and effectively

To our members, our families, our employers and our supporters—thank you. Your commitment, sacrifice and encouragement make it possible for us to continue serving our community.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, we’d love to hear from you. There is a role for everyone, both on and off the fireground, and every volunteer makes a difference.

Happy RFSQ Week! ❤️🚒

We get questions on a regular basis regarding the procedure to obtain a permit to burn.

Whether it's a bush block, a small paddock or a stack, you need a permit to burn if it's more than 2m in any direction. These permits are free.

See here for more information:
https://www.fire.qld.gov.au/safety-education/using-fire-outdoors/lighting-fires-in-queensland

You must contact your fire warden to obtain a permit to burn. To get the details of the fire warden for your location, go here :
https://www.fire.qld.gov.au/safety-education/using-fire-outdoors/fire-wardens

If you're in the Withcott Rural Fire Brigade area, we can assist with planning and performing permitted burns. Now is a great time to think about what you need to do to improve the fire safety of your property, before summer is upon us.

Remember in an emergency to ring 000.
