A lot of fleet decisions are still made around the rarest possible job. 🚚

What if we need to carry a washing machine? What if we need very long equipment?

Inga Töller from ONO says the better question is what the team actually carries on a normal day. ⚡️

If most jobs involve smaller loads, frequent stops and dense city streets, does every vehicle really need to be designed around the exception? Sometimes the biggest barrier to a different fleet setup is simply changing that way of thinking.

Will van drivers actually switch to cargo bikes? 🚴

Inga Töller from ONO says that is one of the biggest questions fleet operators still ask, especially in Germany where cars are deeply ingrained in the culture.

But maybe the answer is not convincing every existing driver to change.

Cargo bikes can also open the job to people who do not have a driving licence, younger workers, students, or people who simply prefer moving through the city by bike. ⚡️

That means the vehicle can change the hiring pool too, not just the fleet.

Not every fleet vehicle needs a huge battery. 🔋

Some ONO customers cover long routes. Others operate around a micro-depot and stay within just a few kilometres.

That’s why ONO uses swappable batteries. ⚡️

Take one battery for a short route. Carry a second or third when you need more range. Charge them from a regular household socket and keep the vehicle working instead of waiting around for it to recharge.

Inga Töller explains why zero downtime was one of the main ideas behind ONO’s battery setup.

Balancing a 236 kg three-wheeler at every traffic light would get old quickly.

That is why XYTE ONE has a tilt-hold system. ⚡️

When the vehicle slows down, the rider can activate it and the vehicle stays upright without needing to put both feet down.

Gero Kempf explains why XYTE deliberately avoided a full tilt lock and kept the system flexible for situations where the vehicle still needs to react naturally.

Marin tested it in Berlin and says it works exactly as intended. 🙌

XYTE Mobility wants to expand beyond Europe, but Gero Kempf does not see that as a simple export story ⚡️

In overseas markets where congestion is severe and lane splitting is legal, XYTE sees a strong use case for XYTE ONE.

The company is also considering local manufacturing as part of that expansion 🛠️

Right now, though, Europe comes first. Gero says roughly 95% of XYTE’s capacity is going into increasing volume and getting production quality right.

Can one vehicle replace a scooter, motorcycle or second car? 🤔

Christoph Walz from XYTE Mobility says it depends entirely on the person using it.

But one thing he thinks buyers still focus on too much is range ⚡️

Electric cars spent years pushing bigger batteries and longer ranges to overcome range anxiety. Now some of those same expectations are being applied to much smaller commuter vehicles.

For most daily trips, Christoph argues that the 100+ km offered by XYTE ONE is already more than enough.

XYTE is already thinking beyond Europe.

The team designed parts of XYTE ONE, including the front end and headlights, with US requirements in mind from the start. ⚡️

There is still a state-by-state approval process to work through, but Gero Kempf says the vehicle concept itself is basically ready.

As he puts it: “Different software, and then we are American.” 🇺🇸

Back in Berlin at the Micromobility show, we test rode the Ponie P2 by PNY Delivered Ltd ⚡️

And honestly, we were genuinely surprised by how good it felt.

This thing moves fast, handles corners really well, accelerates hard, and feels far more balanced than you would expect from a cargo-focused two-wheeler. The weight distribution is excellent, so it feels both fun and incredibly practical at the same time.

Then you remember it offers 400L of cargo space, which puts it in the same conversation as compact crossovers like the Audi Q2.
