Release

The Guyana Police Force takes note of a video circulating on social media of a female Special Constabulary rank being removed from a location and wishes to state that:

1. The said video of the incident occurred on January 14, 2022 and not as recently as it is implied;

2. The said female rank was instructed that she was relocated from the said location to Constabulary Headquarters . She however refused the instructions given and continued to turn up to the location she was being reassigned from; and,

3. Despite pleas, she refused to vacate the premises, throwing herself on the ground as she resisted before being finally escorted out.

An evaluation was performed on the said rank by external authorities who yesterday submitted a clearance report to the Commissioner of Police (Acting) which notes that she is only fit to work during the day.

Arrangements are underway for the Force Psychologist to meet with the rank and for a psycho-social analysis to be done.
