The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) announced the Guyana Harpy Eagles squad for the opening round of the 2026 Cricket West Indies Four-Day Championship.

Guyana, the defending champions, will begin their title defence against the Windward Islands Volcanoes from April 12–15 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The team will be led by Tevin Imlach, with Matthew Nandu serving as vice-captain, under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Ryan Hercules.

The squad reads: Tevin Imlach (Captain), Matthew Nandu (Vice Captain), Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Raymond Perez, Kevlon Anderson, Kemol Savory, Keemo Paul, Gudakesh Motie, Veerasammy Permaul, Richie Looknauth, Nial Smith, Isai Thorne and Zeynul Ramsammy.

Reserves: Shamar Joseph, Junior Sinclair, Sylus Tyndall, Jonathan Van Lange, Thaddeus Lovell, Antony Adams, Mavendra Dindyal.

Shamar Joseph will join the squad from round 2 following his approved rest by CWI.

The 2026 tournament will be contested under a revamped format, with teams engaged in a series of bilateral encounters. Guyana will play three matches against the Windward Islands Volcanoes across venues in Antigua.

At the conclusion of the preliminary phase, the top three teams will advance to the playoffs, with the first-place team progressing directly to the final, while the second and third-placed teams contest a semi-final.

The Alick Athanaze led Windwards Volcanoes have announced their squad for the 2026 First Class season.

This year's 4-Day Championship has been revised to three concurrent three-match series (based on 2025 seedings) acting as the group stage, with the top two teams across the region then competing in the final.

Volcanoes are set against the Guyana Harpy Eagles with the first match bowling off on April 12th at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Hosted in Guyana - a nation with a proud cricketing heritage - the tournament provides a world-class stage for international clubs to compete for global supremacy.

​Playing as the Perth Scorchers XI, the current Big Bash League champions will be the third Australian team to talk part in the GSL, with Cricket Victoria and Hobart Hurricanes having also taken part in the tournament.
