Once again the executive members of WENC Guyana Chapter do acknowledge the support given towards making Global Entrepreneurship Day, 2022 a success. We were happy that this occasion brought out some entrepreneurs for the first time since they have started their various businesses. The response was quite good, our target was met and most importantly our Influencers and presenter acknowledged that this event was one we all should continue to do since the main goal is to strengthen and support entrepreneur in Guyana. These entrepreneurs benefited from topics such as : Marketing and You, Entrepreneurship & You, Rebranding and You, Financing and You, Certification and You, and Your Business and You. Indeed a lot to wet and feed one's appetite with, just in a few hour. WENC Guyana Chapter's commitment is to continue to strengthen and execute our mission purposefully in the coming weeks ahead with a retreat for it's members. Dr. Terrence Smith has committed to sponsor that event and to deliver on his most passionate subject " Financial Literacy" with more that 25 years of experience in the Business Development Sector. His knowledge and expertise will no doubt aid us as entrepreneurs in becoming better at managing our finances. Together we say thank you.

WENC Guyana enjoyed their first in person meeting last evening under the theme "Rebrand/ Rebirth. It was indeed a joyful event where many of our women entrepreneurs as well as specialist in their majoring field of profession were happy to embrace us with their presence. After madam President gave some brief remarks, she invited the immediate past president to give a background on WENC to those who were embracing us for the first time. No doubt that was the right thing to do, give information that's relavant to all, hence providing transparency. After that Patrick Stephens, a remigrant with international experience in training and entrepreneurship, was welcomed to address the gathering. Mr. Floyd Scott who is the current Chairman for CTVET - Guyana commended WENC Guyana for its efforts at this juncture. He alluded the address by Mr. Stephens and summarised it with three ‘M’s, Manpower, Materials and Money. He then stated that he would add one more ‘M’, that is, Manners. He then detailed for the gathering the importance of manners to success of their efforts. On zoom we had sone other key partners , one of which is Dr Smith who will be assisting WENC on financial literacy since that has been his speciality for years. The atmosphere was warm and friendly.
All in attendance were again thanked for making the effort to attend and were invited to network while enjoying the snacks provided.

You are special

An elderly woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water..

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.

'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path! God Bless You all!!!

Putting plans into action. A few years ago some of our executives visited Kari Kari village on the Essequibo coast where we did a one day training in sewing and designing of eco friendly hand bags. Those present were amazed to see how they could earn financially through a simple venture. We currently have some plans for that community which will roll out shortly.
