Congratulations to Team Sinlaku and Team Mawar for an incredible Special Olympics Championship Softball Game! Today we celebrated determination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the joy of competition. No matter the medal earned, what matters most are the memories made, the friendships strengthened, and the pride of giving your best on the field. You are all champions in our hearts.❤️

When a child is struggling, the right support can make all the difference. I'm proud that Bill 295, establishing licensure for school psychologists on Guam, passed the Legislature and was signed into law. This new law helps strengthen school-based mental health services and ensures students have access to qualified professionals when they need it most. Because sometimes helping a child succeed starts with making sure they're heard.

Honored to join Mayor Jesse Alig, the people of Piti, and our community partners in celebrating the inaugural I Rikesan I Tasi – A Piti Sea Festival. This festival is more than a celebration of the ocean—it is a celebration of identity. For generations, the sea has connected, sustained, and shaped our people. The true treasures of the sea are not only beneath the water, but in our stories, traditions, culture, and the people who carry them forward. Congratulations to everyone whose hard work made this first-ever festival possible. Being part of a first is something special, and I have no doubt this is the beginning of a tradition that will continue for generations to come. Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ and Biba Piti!

Today, I attended the Memorial Day ceremony at the Guam Veterans Cemetery in Piti. Beyond the speeches and ceremonies, what stayed with me most was the quiet — the reminder that every flag and every name represents a life deeply loved and deeply missed. Memorial Day is not only about honoring sacrifice, but about remembering the people behind that sacrifice. Today, we remember them with gratitude, respect, and a promise to never forget.

Who says putting up campaign signs under the blazing sun and island heat isn’t fun? 🤩

One of the greatest expressions I’ve ever heard is: “Mother is the name of God on the mouths of children.” Moms leave their fingerprints on our hearts and our souls with the wisdom they impart to us, the guidance they’ve given us, and the unconditional love they’ve bestowed upon us. Moms nurture; they protect; they heal us. I miss my Mom every day, especially on Mother’s Day. If you still have your Mom, cherish every moment—call her, hug her, and tell her you love her often. To all the Moms, step-Moms, step-in and step-up Mother figures, Grandmothers, Godmothers, about-to-be-Moms and OG Mamas, Happy Mother’s Day! May God bless you today and every day! ❤️

Honored to present Legislative Certificates to several dedicated volunteers of the Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association for their years of compassion, service, and commitment to our island community. Through their “prescription of love,” they have comforted patients, supported families, and reminded us all that kindness and volunteerism truly make a difference. Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for your service to Guam. 💕

A State Funeral was held this week to honor the life and legacy of the late Honorable Luis S.N. Herrero — former Mayor of Tamuning, Tumon and Harmon. He was a devoted family man, longtime public servant, and pillar of our community. His decades of service to Guam, his faith, leadership, kindness, and commitment to uplifting others will never be forgotten. On behalf of the people of Guam, we extend our deepest condolences to the Herrero family and celebrate a life lived with purpose, dignity, and heart. Rest in peace, Mayor Herrero.
