A summer home in Lefkada shaped by openness, calm geometry, and a strong connection to its setting.

In this bespoke bathroom design in London, we explored the dialogue between contrast and calm. Heavy cast concrete elements bring a sense of grounded permanence, while warm wood paneling softens the space with natural texture and warmth.

Architects are increasingly focusing on creating environments that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

This includes incorporating biophilic design elements, such as natural light and greenery, as well as using non-toxic, sustainable materials to improve indoor air quality.

Breeze block elements—allow for natural ventilation and light while creating cooler, more comfortable interiors, especially in warmer climates.

Venice Architecture Biennale 2025 just opened

Launched just a few days ago, this year’s Biennale explores the theme “Intelligens: Natural. Artificial. Collective.”—diving into how architecture can respond to both environmental and technological shifts.

Highlights include the Rolex Pavilion by Mariam Issoufou, built from recycled timber and glass terrazzo—showing how circular design can still be striking.

The project required a delicate approach—preserving the building’s historical significance while introducing contemporary elements that complement its heritage.

Stone vs. Brick: Timeless vs. Traditional

Stone offers unmatched timeless beauty and strength, ideal for both exterior facades and interior features. It’s durable and often more sustainable, as it requires less energy to produce than brick.

On the other hand, brick carries a warm, familiar aesthetic and offers excellent insulation properties.
