It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

International Coffee Day is observed on October 1 every year to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage. The day also aims to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness of the plight of coffee growers.

"Coffee was born here in Ethiopia, in the 15th century when goats showed a particular euphoria testing some unknown re berries. They were coffee berries.
I am Annika and I am proud to be a coffee farmer. I have been doing this job for 25 years and I have just inherited the company from my father Kamau, who did the same from his grandfather 60 years ago.
Here the days are marked by the harvesting and washing of the coffee berries, our plants belong to the "Arabica" species of different varieties and this one that grows in Ethiopia is among the most valuable in the world. For us, being outdoors and taking care of the coffee is the best way to work that nature could give us"

Ηere you see a unique coffee fruit from the region of Mantiqueira de Minas, which is located in the Minas Gerais side of Serra da Mantiqueira, in the southern part of the state of Minas Gerais. With a secular tradition of producing high quality coffee, Mantiqueira de Minas is considered nowadays one of the most awarded regions in Brazil. In 2011, it was recognized as Geographical Indication (IG), in the modality Indication of Origin (PGI) for its tradition and worldwide reputation for producing specialty coffees with a highly differentiated sensory profile. These are rare and surprising coffees, reflecting the combination of a unique terroir and the local know-how that continuously searches for excellence.
But this coffee is special to us also for another reason: it is produced by Friulan, an entrepreneur and grower present in Brazil for many years.
