Today we celebrate our gallant women and join the global community to call for Together with our partners and collaborators we observed the day at the Tumu Kuoro's Palace with a series of activities including a durbar and a men's cooking competition to drum home the need for households and communities to Recognize, Reduce and Redistribute unpaid care work which is disproportionately skewed against women due to age-long Socio cultural norms, and has shown to perpetually limit life opportunities for women and girls. We are grateful to Tumu Kuoro, Mwanduanu Kuoro, queen mothers from Bawiesiboi and Wallemboi for gracing the occasion and committing to promote the message. Appreciation to Actionaid Ghana for the support and all the gallant women and youth groups who participated. UNDP Ghana UN Women UNFPA GHANA UNICEF

In the past 10 weeks we hosted a Maternal and Newborn Care radio Clinic on Radford107.5 FM News discussing various topics to promote Maternal, newborn care and breastfeeding practices in the Sissala east municipality. Our studio guests were drawn from the Ghana health service, community health volunteers, pregnant and nursing mothers etc. , , ,

Asudev Ghana shall recieve programme monitoring team from UNICEF Ghana country office on Wednesday 14th July 2021 to support us in our implementation of the community component of UNICEF's Maternal health and newborn quality of Care (MNH QoC) programme in the Upper west region..
We shall pay a courtesy call on the Municipal Director of health, visit the Timbaga community to interact with a group of beneficiaries and finally have a debriefing session in our Office.

Today we interacted with a group of fulani pregnant and nursing mothers in Dolibizon community. With the increasing numbers of Fulani in the area, their involvement and engagement is key to overall maternal and newborn health outcomes of the sissala east municipality. Asudev Ghana UNICEF Ghana and ghanahealthservice are promoting maternal, newborn care and optimal breastfeeding practices in the Sissala east municipality.

Mrs Kunkun, 70 Year old TBA today joined the rest of the Dangi Community of the Sissala East Municipality in a Durbar to sign a 10 point 'Community Optimal Breastfeeding pledge' commiting to support nursing mothers and promote safe breastfeeding and quality newborn care. Asudev Ghana , Ghana Health Service and UNICEF Ghana are working to Increase demand for quality maternal, newborn and Infant feeding services.

Spousal harmony is a key determinant of Optimal Breastfeeding. Meet Madam Ayishetu (sitting) of the Wellembelle community Mother-to-Mother Support Group in the Sissala East Municipality who is calling on husbands to suport their wives to breasfeed their babies well. She implores on them to avoid all forms of psychological violence against the women especially when they are nursing their babies. From her several years of experience a disturbed nursing mother is not only unable to produce adequate breastmilk, she is also not motivated to breastfeed the baby properly. Asudev Ghana , Ghana Health Service and UNICEF Ghana are promoting maternal, newborn quality of care and breasfeeding practices in 70 communities of the Sissala East Municipality.
