Switzerland is divided into 26 cantons and half cantons.

Each of the 26 cantons has its laws, parliaments, governments and courts. Basel, Appenzell and Unterwald bring together two semi-cantons to a cantonal square.
This means that each canton operates as an entity and develops base on its taxes.
Such an interesting practice to adopt in Ghana so District Assemblies dont have to wait for Central Government.
