Note to self [and other]:
Always ask Allah to protect you from the spirit of "I am better than him." It's why (honourable) people fall. This is especially true if you are on the path of knowledge-seeking—scholar or student.
Al-A'raf 7:12
قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍ
[Allāh] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "*I am better than him.* You created me from fire and created him from clay [i.e., earth]."
Al-A'raf 7:13
قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ
[Allāh] said, "*Descend* from it [i.e., Paradise], for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased."

Apparently, most of those who call for sanity in the-sometimes-unhealthy Islamic engagements within Tamale are themselves stoking the fires in same.

Over the years, I’ve avoided meddling in the controversies on the issues of moon sighting, local or abroad. I’ve done this for good reason - if you’re following Saudi, do; I don’t believe that means your fasting is null. If you’re fasting following local sighting as well, I don’t believe your fasting is null. We’re all good.

Now if you’re publicly clamoring for sanity, peace and respect for one another’s views and beliefs and turn around to stoke the fires that be, you never meant any good with your calls.

If you heard Saudi sighted the moon and you fasted. Keep it in good faith. To turn around to be asking people why the size of the crescent is “big” today only exposes the dogmatic pettiness you hide in you, whilst publicly calling for sanity. The simple question I have for all of those asking is, can kindly show us the size of the crescent you saw yesterday and decided to fast today?

We can practice our respective beliefs and still respect one another and our diversity. For now, let’s accept that the Tamale issue is purely personal interests and political idiosyncrasies that transcend Islam.

What to do when the blessed month arrives (Holy month of Ramadan)

To be in full psychological preparedness and physical readiness for intensive Ibadah(Devotion). One should also hasten to show sincere repentance and genuine contrition over the sinful past. He should feel infinite happiness for the approach of the Month and observe his fast with utmost care and flawless performance. Other acts are: humility during Taraweeh prayer, not to become weak in the ten days penultimate to the completion of Ramadan, seeking the night of Power (Laylatul Qadri); and continuous intensive Tilawah (Quranic recitation) with piety,somber and meditation.

Equally important is, performing Umra which is equivalent to Hajj, giving out sadaqah and alms whose rewards is even in manifold during the fasting Month, and lastly, doing Itikaf (seclusion in the Mosque) during Ramadan. All these are very essential for a Muslim who is seeking the face of Allah..

There is no harm in rejoicing with one another for the approach of the Month even, the Prophet (Salallahu alayhi wasallam), whenever the Month was approaching, used to congratulate and at the same time, encourage the companions to be scrupulous by worshiping Allah round the Clock.
Abu Huraira relates:

"The Apostle (Salallah alayhi wasallam), says
'(People!) the Month of blessing has come to you. It is a Month in which fasting is prescribed.
During this Month, the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained. The Month contains a night, which is superior to one thousand nights. One who is deprived of its merits is truly unfortunate!“

A FRIEND doesn't encourage you to fight, miss work, club every weekend, call only to turn up, have you in drama, wants you to be messy 24/7, etc. A TRUE friend is going to stay on you about accomplishing your life goals, getting your money, ignoring the foolishness, getting you involved in opportunities, and enjoying life.

Surround yourself with people that want to see you do good & stay away from the negativity. Everybody that's around doesn't always mean they're there for a good reason.

When both people in a relationship truly care for each other, you'll notice that the effort they put into making things work is balanced. It's a natural give and take, where both parties are equally invested in the relationship's health and happiness. This mutual dedication means that no one is left feeling like they're carrying the burden alone. It's about showing up for each other, making compromises, and consistently working together towards common goals. This kind of balanced effort is a strong indicator of genuine feelings and a shared commitment to the relationship's success.

When a girl is interested in you, she will-

- excited to text and talk with you
- shares everything about her day
- she smiles while talking with you.

Women OVER do things when she is interested or falls in love with you-

- over loves you
- overs shares
- over excites like a child.

If she's giving you one-word replies, she's not interested.

Stop wasting your time on women that don't value your presence…!🧘🏽‍♂️

In life, you will fall out with people that you never thought you would. Get betrayed by people you trusted with all of your heart. And get used by people you would do anything for. But life also has a beautiful side to it. You will get loved by someone you never thought you would have.

From new friendships with people that will establish more meaningful and stronger relationships. And overcome things you never thought you would get over. We all have chapters that end with people at some point in life. But take pride in knowing that the very best part of your book is still being written.

Three pieces of advice for those in their early twenties.

1. Live below your means, save your money and enter the property market as soon as possible, you weren't born to pay rent forever.

2. Start each day with intentionality; have purpose and set your goals and aspirations high.

3. Heal your scars before you're married and have children of your own. Many of you have suffered enough and need to be the slayer of generational trauma.
