Addressing the issue of period poverty and promoting proper menstrual hygiene, the TAPIOCA Foundation distributed sanitary pads to over 400 young girls and women. This initiative was aimed at ensuring that beneficiaries have access to essential menstrual care products, thereby reducing the challenges and stigma often associated with menstruation.

Through this support, the Foundation seeks to empower young girls and women to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence, while also encouraging regular school attendance among students who might otherwise miss classes due to lack of sanitary materials.

The distribution exercise also served as an opportunity to educate beneficiaries on proper menstrual hygiene practices, reinforcing the importance of personal health and well-being. This intervention forms part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to improving the lives of women and girls in underserved communities.

In an effort to help reduce unemployment in the Ada area, the Foundation through its Bold Skills Program – BSP, donated essential working equipment to five young girls and five women engaged in pastry production. The items presented included stand mixers, dough presses, hand mixers, and donut makers, all aimed at supporting their startups and improving their livelihoods. The beneficiaries were carefully selected based on demonstrated commitment, evidence of their work, and seriousness toward their craft.

In recognition of the impactful contributions of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Ada State, the TAPIOCA Foundation, through its flagship Daring Women Summit 2026, honored three outstanding NGOs for their dedication to the development of women and girls.
The organizations recognized were Volta Resilient Foundation (VRF) for their advocacy against child trafficking and their work in women’s development, The Kyereh Foundation for championing period hygiene, and YIKATSEME for their advocacy efforts focused on the Songor Lagoon.
This recognition aims to inspire other NGOs and CSOs to continue their important work and to strengthen their efforts in advocacy, policy, and programming toward the sustainable development of the Ada State.
