Forest Thunder - The Eastern Wild Turkey is our latest film project. This film tells the story of the Eastern Wild Turkey subspecies and what their future holds. We tag along noted scientist and University of Georgia professor Mike Chamberlain to examine management issues surrounding this bird. We also follow John Annoni in eastern PN who has made a 30 year career of introducing inner city kids to nature through his Camp Compass Academy. We also catch up with retired New England Patriot Matt Light who’s passion for turkeys might be considered dangerous, but his passion also translates to his The Light Foundation where 30,000 kids a year are thought leadership through outdoor activities.

This is our web version. A long format version will be available on a variety of platforms and our website starting Feb 28.

My son Samuel was fortunate to be chosen to hunt in the The Light Foundation 2021 Youth Turkey Hunt here in RI. Even more cool was Sam got the chance to actually hunt with 3 time Super Bowl Champ, Pro-Bowler and Hall of Famer New England Patriot Matt Light. I was really impressed with how Matt and his team structured the program and how well it was run. Starting with saying grace before the dinner they gave us on Friday night to Matt's talk to the kids congratulating them on what they did to get selected, the importance of accountability for themselves and having skin in the game to earn it. I was really impressed with how down to earth and genuine Matt is. Seemed like Matt was just as excited as Sam when Sam facetimed me to tell me he just got one!!! Have to give kudos to his staff and all the guides who volunteered to take a kid hunting. In this increasingly turbulent world, it is so important to focus our kids on character building and virtues. Hunting teaches lifelong lessons. The kids had a heck of a day. 7 of the 10 kids killed turkeys. Sam was blessed to kill a 19 lb. longbeard with a 9 inch beard and 1.25 spurs. It never made it to the freezer. Fried turkey nuggets and homemade chick-fil-a sauce! Thankful to be so blessed and great job to all who participated.
