Hi
Congratulations You are doing well. No using single use shopping bags. Short food supply chains. Let people eat foods which are grown or farmed reasonably close to the places of sale and preparation. Transport means waste! To avoid transport is good for the environment. I like to see benefits for local economies and organic gardening. Thanks for your efforts. Success. I am pride of you!

Green Butterfly is deeply saddened by the killing of innocent citizens by members of the Ghanaian security forces yesterday in Ejura. We hereby decree this Saturday's market day A DAY OF MOURNING as we pay homage to our fallen brothers. We encourage all our vendors and friends to wear black and red in solidarity as we register our grief and disappointment with the unimaginable act that occurred in Ejura yesterday. #FixTheCountry #WeAreAllKaaka #BlackTuesday

[04/10/21]   Greetings dear friends hope all is well with everyone! This year, Green Butterfly's annual "Mother Earth Festival" will be held (mostly virtually) from Saturday April 17th to Thursday April 22nd (earth day).

"EARTHDAY.ORG’s theme for Earth Day 2021 is" Restore Our Earth" β„’, which focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems. In this way, the theme rejects the notion that mitigation or adaptation are the only ways to address climate change. It is up to each and every one of us to Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. We all need a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health & survival, and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option β€” it is a necessity."

This year we aim to inspire young and aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to join in the restoration of our planet in each of their own unique ways. On Saturday 17th April we will be hosting a small group of young aspiring entrepreneurs at the Green Butterfly Market. We will be providing them with an orientation as well as a chance to interact with our makers and artisans. Most of these young ones are students from the Teshie and Jamestown areas who have a desire to make change happen by owning their own Eco-friendly businesses. We believe an outing such as this one will expose them to a whole new world of possibility, inspiring them to work harder and hopefully to join our mentorship program being rolled out later in the year.

We are pleased to partner with REUSABLE BAGS GH and the SAY NO TO SINGLE USE PLASTICS campaign to provide education to the kids on responsible use of plastics; Choosing to carry cloth bags and reusable utensils wherever they go and to say no to plastic bags. Each child will be provided with a cloth bag and reusable flask for their porridge, water, etc. (To donate 30ghc per child please DM or send momo to Green Butterfly on 0557952275) You may nominate a child you believe is highly innovative and wishes to become an entrepreneur with solutions to restore our earth. Send us email at [email protected] or DM me to participate.

At the market on 17th April we encourage everyone to bring along some seeds, seedlings to donate, or to buy plants and seedlings from any of our plants vendors on that day. A big thank you to Wellington Baiden and EMERALD FORESTS for donating 100 CEDRELA TREES to Mother Earth Festival! Our pledge is to plant all these by Thursday 22nd April 2021🌿🌱

MOTHER EARTH FESTIVAL continues from 17th April until 22nd April with various live online sessions that will be streamed via our social media pages. Please follow us on social media to catch our live streams!

Reposted from @tastyalternatives_gh A huge thanks to all who passed by our @greenbutterflygh stand yesterday. Your feedback is very important to us.
We will do well to have fresh wagashi at the next market.
Starting a business is not easy ooo. I was so anxious and nervous yesterday. "What if no one buys my wagashi?" "What will I do with all of it?"
God being so good, we sold EVERYTHING. We even ended up selling the free samples because we ran out.
You never know how something will turn out unless you try. And if you try and it doesn't work out, there's always something you can learn from that experience.
I know this journey will be full of learning experiences. I promise to keep it real and share everything with you.
Happy Sunday!😊
