# prevention indeed pays
I am proud to work at NADMO Office
Please I need job at nadmo
Good work done Director General, you deserve much much better.

But i think NADMO now with the existence of the Disaster Management Fund inplace there should be a way of generating Monies to the fund account as well.

In the ACT 927, i think it spell out the issuance of safety compliance certificate to public buildings if am correct, so in that case NADMO can start generating revenue by issuing the safety compliance certificate to individuals before putting up a permanent structure and this will go a long way of preventing flooding damages at the onset.

Good work D.G

On Thursday, 8th April 2021, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior, organized a stakeholders conference to assess our country's state of preparedness for the occurrence of earthquakes.

His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo endorsed, at the Conference, the recommendations and an action plan drawn up by a Technical Committee of experts, whose implementation will help build national resilience against the destructive effects of earthquakes, when such occurrences befall us.

His Excellency the President, who has demonstrated great support towards disaster management entreated the Ministries of Works and Housing and Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, to collaborate with the Ghana Institution of Engineers to develop a scheme that will entail home-owners retrofitting their homes to make them resistant to earthquakes, and compelling prospective home-owners to build in accordance with defined standards.

In his remarks, the Director General Hon. Eric Nana Agyeman-Prempeh brought to the attention of His Excellency the President and all gathered that the West Africa Earthquake Fault Line in Ghana also gets to Ho, moves through Eastern Region, and through Greater Accra to Nyanyano in the Central Region. And to also note that almost all our critical state infrastructure are on the fault zone namely Tema Harbour, Kotoka International Airport, Akosombo Dam, the Weija Dam, and unfortunately our Jubilee House. Certainly, investing in earthquake resilience will be worth all efforts.

He further stated that disasters don’t know political, social, economic or religious considerations. When it strike, it strikes. The Director General therefore appealed that we all pulled our weights together to fight a winning battle.

He concluded with the following words “ Disaster Risk Reduction is your business, it is my business, it is your organisation’s business, its your cooperate business, it’s your committee’s business, its everybody’s business. Help build a resilient Ghana.”
