The Chief of the Army Staff
(COAS), Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, has paid his first official visit to the Jungle Warfare School (JWS) at Seth Anthony Barracks, Akim Achiase, as part of his familiarisation tour of Ghana Army Units.
During the visit, the Commanding Officer (CO) of JWS, Lieutenant Colonel Jacob Cudjoe, briefed COAS on the school's operations, including training, administration, logistical challenges, and development plans. The CO
presented a smock and a Tiger monument to honour the
COAS, an old jungler.
Major General Gbetanu commended the staff for their commitment, teamwork and remarkable infrastructural achievements and assured them of support to address challenges and enhance training. He also advised students to give off their best to enable them build their military career

The Supply Application School, in collaboration with Ho Technical University (HTU), has held a matriculation ceremony for sixty-seven students for certificate programmes in Procurement and Supply, Catering, and Operations Management at the School of Maritime Operations auditorium, Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), Nutekpor.
The Flag Officer Commanding NAVTRAC Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi urged the students to build strong relationships and participate in academic and extracurricular activities. He highlighted such as discipline, precision and excellence as core values to uphold during their academic journey.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor of HTU, Professor Christopher Mensah, encouraged the students to balance their naval duties with academics, seek support when needed, and focus on personal growth. He emphasised that their studies would help them contribute meaningfully to national development.

Students of the Advanced Command and Staff Course, Defence Academy, United Kingdom, as part of their study tour of the Central Command Area of Responsibility have paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
In an interactive session with the students who were led by Captain (RN) Charlotte Yemm, the Otumfuo commended Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for maintaining peace and security and also called for increased support for GAF in training and logistics.
Earlier, they received a briefing delivered by the Command Operations Officer, Colonel Henry Ansah-Akrofi and GSO Il, Major Allen Akwei Hammond, on operational, administrative and logistic matters of the Command.
Mr Ebenezer Asare Oppong also briefed on the activities of AngloGold Ashanti.

The 11 Mechanised Battalion of the Ghana Army has, on Thursday 1 May 2025, observed International Labour Day with an endurance walk and recreational activities in Bolgatanga.
The event, which began at the Unit's Senior NonCommissioned Officers (SNCO) Mess, was led by the Commander Rear, Lieutenant Colonel Kakra Sasu-Antwi.
It featured a 20-kilometre walk that took participants from the unit's recreational grounds through the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital Roundabout to the Jubilee Park and back.
The endurance walk formed part of the unit's routine physical training programme aimed at enhancing the fitness and combat readiness of officers and soldiers.
Lt Col Sasu-Antwi took the opportunity to congratulate personnel for their job output over the period and encouraged them to give out their best at all times.

The Physical Training School has held a closing ceremony for the Advance Physical Training Instructors Course 49 at Whistler Barracks, Teshie for fifty-nine students from various security services after completing a 15-week intensive training programme in physical fitness and leadership.
During the ceremony, students demonstrated skills in obstacle crossing and casualty evacuation, followed by captivating gymnastics display. The course covered topics such as anatomy, first aid, vaulting, agility, and rules of sport, to equip graduates with physical training skills and discipline.
The Special Guest of Honour, Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon kofi Adams emphasised the role of security services in national sports development and announced plans to renovate El-Wak Stadium.
The Guest of Honour, Deputy Commandant Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Commodore Prosper Modey urged graduating instructors to maintain fitness levels and lead pragmatic training programmes in their respective units.
