The fight against breast cancer needs awareness to drive action. Let's inspire each other, spread the word, and strive to make change. This disease affects us all in some way, so let's unite and promote awareness this month 🎀 💕
In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our staff wore pink today to recognise those near and far affected by breast cancer, a cause close to many of our employee's hearts.
This is the time that we all need to stand with and for those who are currently fighting, those we have lost, and those who survived the terminal illness-- not only this month but every month, every day. We send our support and our love 💕 🎀
From Dr Daniel McKorley and us, best of luck to all students writing their BECE this week. As you sit down to your exams, you owe it to yourself to work hard and do your best, but know that the results won’t be the ultimate measure of you.
Take care of yourself, study well, and do your best... you've got this!
DR DANIEL MCKORLEY SIGNS HISTORIC MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH AFCFTA SECRETARIAT
The Chairman and Group CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr Daniel McKorley and H.E. Wamkele Mene, the Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, on Friday, October 7, 2022, signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding which sets the Ghanaian company as the primary logistics partner for the African Guided Trade Initiative.
This groundbreaking symbolic endeavour signalled the kick-off of a cooperation that seeks to promote meaningful trade between African countries that are AfCFTA-member nations.
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), an ambitious flagship programme of the African Union, was created to spearhead the industrial transformation and economic development of Africa. It is expected to boost intra-African trade, create employment across the continent and generate a gross domestic product (GDP) of $3.4 trillion by the end of the decade (World Bank, 2020). As of May 2022, 43 of the 54 signatories had deposited their instruments of AfCFTA ratification, representing 80% of the member states.
The former President of Niger, H.E Issoufou Mahamadou, who was appointed Champion of the AFCFTA, lauded the partnership with McDan Group as a landmark one which will move the needle of the initiative.
The Ghanaian Minister of Trade, Hon. Alan Kyeremanteng mentioned that it takes a visionary and leader of enterprises to do this and that he was excited that the first was from Ghana. He congratulated Dr. Daniel McKorley for the effort because it is undoubtedly a noteworthy accomplishment. The momentous occasion, according to the minister, demonstrated that the secretariat is fully functional.
Many of the attending Ministers of Trade from other African countries hailed the partnership and initiative as the true African dream come true as it is one of the seven pillars listed in the OAU assembly in 1963, coming to fruition 59 years later.
The emotionally-charged event, held at Terminal 1 of Kotoka International Airport at the McDan Aviation hub, further consolidated what was a significant milestone.
McDan Group is an indigenous African company with over two decades of experience and success in the shipping and logistics sector. The group's aviation, shipping and logistics subsidiaries are a true definition of a “One Stop Shop” when it comes to authority in freight forwarding, logistics, and specialized shipping and aviation services. The top leadership and management team are experts in the specific core competencies, highly skilled in their technical abilities with a depth of experience.
The Group, which has exclusive licenses in Ghana to operate the Terminal at the Ports and the Private Jet Terminal 1 at the Kotoka International Airport, has an extensive regional and global network that gives it an advantage that transcends cultural and regional barriers.
McDan Group’s initial partnership includes two cargo planes and one vessel that will facilitate the initial movements of the guided trade initiative.
Dignitaries from all over the continent, primarily from AFCFTA member states, attended the occasion. There were numerous words of goodwill messages from people like DR. Jean Chrysostome Ngabitsinze, Minister of Trade and Industry of Rwanda, H.E. Eliphas Barine - the Kenyan High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Commerce of Cameroun.

In every little corner of our country, young people have been agents of positive change. Through their passion, drive and sacrifices, they have consistently demonstrated that they have the power to redesign social constructs and redefine norms. Sadly, they have not been given the necessary push they need to thrive and do well in our communities. It is why we must recognize that we all have a role to play in helping guide our passionate youth into the motivating and rewarding entrepreneurial careers they seek. This is a big reason why we are happy to see the initiative, which seeks to help in this regard, make a stop at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Thursday, August 11. We’re proud to be leading a community project that sees Dr Daniel McKorley express how entrepreneurship can impact youth development and how he is committed to equipping the youth with the necessary skills that will prepare them for future work.
At , we know and understand that festivals serve as avenues for communities to showcase their rich cultural heritage. But especially for Ada, its Asafotufiami festival is more than just that; it is also a celebration of the resilience, power and achievement of its ancestors.
In our small way of celebrating this history and helping to elevate Ada, our CEO and Executive Chairman, Dr Daniel McKorley [Nene Koranteng Kabu I, the Development of Chief of Ada] is present at the durbar ground and exchanges pleasantries with the people and chiefs of the Ada Traditional Council.
As we join in the celebrations, we will continue to explore the different opportunities that are present in Ada, and how to can play an active role to contributing to that.
The entire Ada community has supported and embraced Electrochem Ghana Limited far more than we could have ever imagined. It is big reason the company has been going above and beyond to immerse itself in Ada’s festive season -- especially as this is a period of homecoming, family reunions, celebrations and a massive display of cultural activities.
Make sure to pass by our booth, say hello, and you just may get some souvenirs to go home with!
Our CEO and Executive Chairman of the McDan Foundation, was the Guest Speaker at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration - GIMPA’s 22nd Congregation on Saturday.
He delivered the raw story of his entrepreneurial journey and ended with the foundational keywords; "It is my hope that as you step out to take your rightful place in your various career fields, you are going to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to inspire others so that collectively you can address the issues that we face as a country. Ghana and the world await you. You have a chance to show what you can do. There will be opportunities to succeed and also to fail. Accept both, for even in failing we all learn. Question and challenge everything that doesn’t seem to be working. Bring your energy, enthusiasm, and drive to the world."

Together with Dr Daniel McKorley, we’re excited to share how young people can develop an entrepreneurial mindset to start and run their successful businesses; how they can grasp innovation, introduce new competition in the labour market and hence contribute to the economic productivity of their local communities!

Construction of the Sege Sports Village is shaping up beautifully and has taken another major step towards completion.
Here, our skilled groundsmen laying FIFA-standard grass on the pitch.
Our aim, as a business, is to improve the quality of life in the communities we work with. And sports is a great way to do this.
This is why Electrochem Ghana Limited's construction of the Sege Sports Village excites us. We believe that Sege is a world-class community and should have a world-class facility. When people come to Ada, we want them to experience how great Sege is and this facility will help them see that.
The construction of the Sege Sports Village will promote local employment, with plenty of job opportunities during the construction and operation phases, and will contribute significantly to the development of economic activity around the venue.
From all of us at , we say Eid Mubarak. May Allah [SWT] accept all of your good deeds and sacrifice, allow you to build on what you have done throughout the year, and to reach the next Eid.
Safe and assured drinking water in the household or close to it has to be the reality for every family.
